3) Iran silly enough to back failing Egyptian regime and launches a symbolic missile
4) Tehran glows in the dark for the next 1000 yrs?

As an historian, it is amusing to see how Egypt can not remember its lessons from history and they keep on repeating the same really stupid mistakes. In 1948 the Egyptian Army with planes and howitzers and tanks invaded Israel from Sinai and they were defeated by Jewish kids and old men with gasoline bottles and small caliber hunting rifles and one small Cessna (or Piper Cub).

In 1956 the Egyptians moved their army up to the border of Israel and cut off Israeli shipping from their southern port of Elath (An Act of WAR under international law). A few days later the Israeli Army was on east bank of the Suez Canal and the Egyptians lost all their tanks.

GAZA CITY, Palestinian Territories, (AFP) — The Palestinian Islamist group Hamas on Sunday renewed its pledge to cooperate with Egypt to restore order along the border between Gaza and the lawless Sinai Peninsula.

"We reiterate our readiness to cooperate with our brothers in Egypt to ensure the security of our borders and our common interests," the head of the Hamas government in Gaza, Ismail Haniya, said.

"We want security cooperation with Egypt but not with the Zionist enemy," Haniya said as he addressed thousands of worshippers gathered in Gaza City for traditional prayers marking the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
