You seem to have missed the point of the thread as well as the various reasons why that won't work. I already covered a 12 year span of time, Jupiter and earth's orbits are not in a 1:1 resonance, and because Jupiter's orbit is nearly 12 years long and inclined to our orbit by 1.3 degrees, it will not make the same track each time. It is important to correct for image orientation using the stars' positions and then compare the image to the predicted position of Jupiter within the image.

I didn't bother responding simply because I already shot down the entire premise that Jupiter's apparent position is wrong, regardless of whether they think it's being caused by Jupiter being off or the earth being off. Changing the reason for the claim doesn't help if the claim itself was already disproven. I addressed the apparent position question directly, thus it covers their alternate reasoning behind the claim.

My apologies, Astro. I did an advanced search with your user ID which, surprisingly, was not the best method.

At first astro post never made sense to me. So I walked outside stared into the sun for a few hours, and then picked my nose with a lobatomey knife. So, if I have this right, Astromut is telling us that Jupiter is off course because of a tenth planet or something big pulling/pushing it into Saturn and that is what's going to happen to Earth and Venus NEXT!???

Sorry if I am a pain. But you still did not say point blank, that's Earth's path has not been altered.

People are coming up with all kinds of statements... the Sun is off, Venus is off, the Moon is off, Jupiter is off. It is really hard for me to understand how all these claims coming from so many people, and so many areas of the world could all be wrong? What have they to gain by saying for example.. the sun is shinning on a different part of their home then ever before?

If the orbit is not quite the same, perhaps at different times, (hrs, days, seasons) the path could be swayed away from its position and at other points, the path would appear normal. Thus allowing people to stake their claim that everything is exactly as it should be.

As I said... I can not phantom a reason for all the "wrong" personal reports of change... at the same time I can understand our leaders not wanting any panic among the populace. Don't you agree?
