i spent most of my adult life as an atheist. i was a hardcore realist who thought anything spiritual (or invisible) was absolutely absurd.
then i had a significant ufo/paranormal experience.
that was 20 yrs ago.
now i think differently. very differently.
Quoting: Salt Well, good for you, but excuse me if I don't buy your story. Here is the thing...Christians tell me that they believe in talking donkeys, talking bushes and talking snakes. I don't think that is rational or intelligent to believe that. I have never seen a UFO. If I ever do, then I may believe differently than I do today. Until that time, I will remain a realist and an atheist. And I will also view your experience very skeptically because I have no other point of reference. And if you did have some encounter with a UFO, then why do you include those biblical quotes, along with the quote from Cooper. I know about him, I have read the stories. I just don't believe in anything I have never experienced personally. I only believe in things I can see, touch, smell, etc. or in things science has proven to be true. Like evolution, for instance. I believe we evolved from lower life forms because there is proof of that. I don't know if alien DNA is in our blood. I won't believe that until proven. That is where I am coming from. Maybe you think the God of the Bible is an alien. If so, he sure is a brutal monster of an alien. And I still wonder why you include the quotes from the Bible and why you seem to dislike atheists??? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20657814 my post was not directed to you. i don't give a flying fig what you buy or don't buy. you have free will just as i have free will. use it wisely. your anger toward christians is pretty typical. do me a favor, do not lump every believer into the fundie hellfire brimstone eternal damnation category. not all believers are the same. i don't dislike anybody. it is not a personal thing. i disagree with the atheistic belief set. that doesn't mean i hate atheists. i refused to believe in anything spiritual in the days of my past. science and fact were my gods. then i was introduced to things i couldn't explain. it wasn't just me, it was a group of us. this experienced launched a search for answers. took a lot of years, but i got answers. they were as surprising to me as i am sure they would be to somebody who thinks like you do.
