Shhhh…It’s Even Worse Than The Great Depression
Velocity of money is the frequency with which a unit of money is spent on new goods and services. It is a far better indicator of economic activity than GDP, consumer prices, the stock market, or sales of men’s underwear (which Greenspan was fond of ogling). In a healthy economy, the same dollar is collected as payment and subsequently spent many times over. In a depression, the velocity of money goes catatonic. Velocity of money is calculated by simply dividing GDP by a given money supply. This VoM chart using monetary base should end any discussion of what ”this” is and whether or not anybody should be using the word “recovery” with a straight face:

All that banter doesn't mean shit to me.
You care to explain in common terms? O better yet, don't.

People will still need shit, If one person has shit and another person needs shit they will have to work out an agreement. That is how the market works.

The dollar can collapse all it wants, if your poor already you won't miss it much.

The higher the velocity, the higher the inflation.
Not quite correct but you get the idea.
"The world will soon wake up to the reality that everyone is broke and can collect nothing from the bankrupt, who are owed unlimited amounts by the insolvent, who are attempting to make late payments on a bank holiday in the wrong country, with an unacceptable currency, against defaulted collateral, of which nobody is sure who holds title."

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

Re: Shhhh…It’s Even Worse Than The Great Depression
The word "billion" gets thrown around today like it's some small number. Is a billion cars a lot of cars? Is a billion people a large crowd? What about a billion dollars? Some perspective:

A billion seconds ago it was 1980. A billion minutes ago was the time of Jesus. A billion hours ago was the stone age. A billion days ago no one walked upright.

Yet a billion dollars ago was 8 hours and 20 minutes at the present clip that Ben hyper-depresses the world. Fiat is clearly worthless.

This government is sick!! Massive depression we are in, held together with paper clips and perception economics. What a joke.

I am simply amazed to see how brain washed people are into believing that a piece of paper with a number on it has value(or a shiny stone).

People don't know how to survive without it. This is really funny. Normally (for example) they say "Without it I will not be able to buy food."...For God's sake just grow it!. People from the past were way more advanced than the "modern" one...lmao

Very true. The velocity of money is quite meaningful to the average person assuming they participate at some level in the economy.

The chart from Zero hedge means we are in extreme doo doo.

The demopublicans are responsible for the two greatest depressions.
Their frankenstein monster(the fed) pumped money into the
system during the "roaring twenties".
This led to stock speculation and other things.
When they cut it off there was of course a depression, it was planned that way, so that we would have no choice but to go into WWII, with plenty of extra production just laying around.
The FED is controlled by the PTB, they created the last
depression so that we would go into war and accept socialism.
They are creating the current one in order to usher in the NWO.
The US is controlled by one party, with two wings, neither of which
beleives in the Constitution, Bill of rights, or basic freedom.
You can ignore the consequences of
your actions, but you cannot ignore
the RESULTS of the consequences of your actions

the way I understand it was a recession under hoover and the policies of roosevelt turned it into a depression the same thing is happening today I believe. I am also seeing a similiarity with the drought in the midwest and the droughts in the 30's when
Roosevelt was president. As a midwest farmer I am wondering what the masses are going to do when food prices rise this winter and next spring when were are so used to spending most of our money on house payments, cars and all the toys we think we need to be normal in today society.
