Louisiana Sinkhole: Deadly Containments Found
Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LA DEQ) water and air tests of the gas bubbles and sinkhole are showing cancer-causing and numerous other negative health impact contaminants, according to official records and an analysis released Tuesday.

Water in Bayou Corne's sinkhole is contaminated with salt water, diesel, chemicals associated with the diesel contaminants such as volatile organic chemicals, ethyl benzene, toluene, xylene and a large number of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons such as naphthalene, anthracene, and pyrene, according to a written statement released Tuesday by the state's primary non-government environmental organization, Louisiana Environmental Action Network (LEAN).

"Health impacts associated with the chemicals detected in the air in the residential area consist of
known and possible cancer causing agents; respiratory irritants; skin, eye, nose, throat, and lung irritants and can cause
headaches, nausea, vomiting, difficulty breathing, dizziness, lightheadedness, weakness, muscle aches and pains, joint pain, abdominal pain and stress,"

I don't like the fact that there has been a dramatic decline in amount of updates we get on this..

I think it is newsworthy for sure.

If they don't care about that same sort of shit coming up in the water supply and being put into the air where fracking is done why do they care about what comes out of this hole?

You are absolutely correct; when they take it off the front page, they are up to something.

However, Jindal is not that type of Governor.

"The concentrations of these chemicals were all below the Louisiana Ambient Air Standards, but were present in each air sampling event."

That is why you don't hear about it. The levels are within standards. The original cavern was topped off with diesel fuel. If it collapsed you would expect to see petroleum volatiles. You do.
