Crystal clear last night. No storms for hundreds of miles. So what the hell were the white light flashes the covered the whole sky? Looked like the aurora but no colored.

I'm in south central Pa., just above the Md. boarder...I was sitting out on the porch about 9 p.m. and saw the flashes off and on for over 20 minutes...I wondered what it was myself, it looked like lightning from a distance but wasn't sure what the hell I was seeing.

It was a clear night.

Me and some friends (England) noticed several times the bright flash lighting up the sky, couldn't work out what it was.

If this was seen from the US to England, what could it have been. Can't be lightning, obviously. So what could it be

I saw it, in South Florida.

It almost seemed like lightning, but made no sound.. It actually was more similar (the flash) to heat lightning, except there was no distant rumble and it encompassed the whole sky instead of just a single area. It wasn't very bright, but bright enough to recognize. It was always a single flash and very quick..

I saw this last night AND the night before.. The flashes were separated by a couple minutes sometimes. this was after midnight.

Wow so now we England, Florida, and Pennsylvania.

Maybe solar guardian was right, maybe we are now getting pummeled with galactic energy and our atmosphere is lighting up

gotta say this description fits perfectly with what i saw here in England, except i only noticed it last night. The whole sky lit up i was expecting thunder but nothing, then 5-10 minutes later same again, and it happened a few times. It was also after midnight here but we're 6 hours ahead (roughly) of US? So it happened over a period of time.

We did here in Northern VA. There was a big flash and a power surge. The police and FD were out searching, but never found anything.

Hi, I live in south central pa. to. We were sitting on porch last night after 9 oclock. And I saw the flashes to. Was ready to go to bed, because I get up at 4 am. Just figured it was heat lightning until I read this post. But I have been seeing this for the past few evenings.

Seemed to be bright but not bright enough to light up the whole sky in a region the size of 1/3 of the Earth's surface.

Ok do now we basically have the entire US, from PA to Florida and Virginia and Maryland all the way over to Nevada and over to England.

So what is it?

The fluffy is getting denser now and is having atmospheric effects?

I didn't see flashes, as I was in the house. But I did hear what sounded like gunshots on and off all night. I'm in the Allentown area of PA.

Not sure about the flashes, but my husband said that all of the electronic devices that he uses in his semi were acting up all night. He was in Minnesota. We also had a power surge at our house as well, and I'm in Iowa. Not sure if these are related, but I thought I'd post it anyway, incase someone else experienced the same.
