With that kind of radiation levels in Tokyo (higher than the evacuation zones at Chernobyl by your own admissions) then in a few months - or in a few short years - the health hazards will become obvious as children are born with ever increasing numbers of birth defects, or the cancer rate for all cancers soar far above the "normal" incidence of cancer per 1000 of population and concurrently people start becoming ill in their 20's and 30's and then progressing on to a certain deathdgg dying in their 40's and 50's.
How much of the above has to happen before the Japanese population snaps to the fact that they're being lied to and literally murdered by that lie, in order to preserve a corrupt economic system that is not deserving f survival!
MEMO TO JAPAN Inc:
In your haste to count your profits and collect your bonuses and begin a new fiscal year well into the "black" on your balance sheets, you've forgotten several key issues.
I. Remember that once your worker class starts dying off, and their children are born with gross deformities or stillborn - your biggest industry will be providing hospice care for those dying - and that will be over 1/2 of the population in a matter of 2 or 3 years (or less!) The workers and citizens who've been killed by radiation exposure may have enough energy left to tear the government officials apart limb by limb before they go silently into that long dark night. I rather think some of them will. Karmic justice alone dictates that they will.
II. As wonderful as your robotic assembly lines have become you still need human beings to adjust and check the robots, to order supplies, feed the right raw material into the system at the right time, etc.
III. In short, you economy dies along with your people.The economic powerhouse that once was "JAPAN INC" is going to be destroyed by the levels of radiation and without bring in new people, and stopping the radiation exposure somehow, you will not be able to get new workers trained, educated, and willing to work.
IV. The cost of your employment is a human life or lives! Not many will be willing to pay for the privilege of working in Japan with their own lives and the lives of their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Employment, benefits, job security don't mean a damned thing if one is not going to be alive to collect that pension or see their children become adults.
V. When Russia experienced Chernobyl they were pumping tons of concrete on top of the site within DAYS! In japan, it's now been a year and you're country is complaining that "it's too hot" to send workers in to do anything!" This is the official response from a country that leads the world in automated systems and robotics design? That gross lie would be laughable if it were not killing so many with each passing day!
VI. Stop the absurd lies and "face saving" and tell the truth.
VII. If you fail to protect your citizens, you won't have a country. Period..
VIII. Japan, to date you have failed in the most miserable, self-serving, greed-motivated way imaginable to protect anyone or anything other than your corporate profits! Frankly such a nation with so little regard for their citizens, probably does not deserve to continue on in this world, no matter how "productive" they may be building Sony Stereo's and various models of Toyota cars!
iX. Tepco execs and the entire board should be marched at gunpoint into the damaged and wide-open reactors and it should be televised on natonal networks for all to see! Let some of them experience the same death (all be it more quickly) that you would have sentenced the city of Tokyo and surrounding areas to! Let the people see you as you're dying and cannot move except to beg for more morphine to stop the pain of your body rotting inside your skin as you die!
