If free energy hits the market, oil companies go bust, and I'm going to be out of a job along with millions of others = catastrophic fuckery of oil prices = global economic collapse.

Oil and gas 4 life. We can still have the odd wind/solar/geothermal and tidal energy, but thats never going to hurt the big oil companies that much!
