Florida GULF COAST Braces for HURRICANE ISAAC--LIVE LOCAL REPORT THREAD

I heard Joe Bastardi on Fox earlier today. He said that because Issac basically skirted Haiti, it will have a longer time to gather steam over the 89 degree waters.

Because of that he is saying that it could possibly be a Cat3 by landfall. He expects it to miss Tampa completely.

National Hurricane Center says #Isaac may create 3-5 foot storm surge in Tampa Bay.

The only thing that ever goes down in Ft laudi is when Hallandale floods

From Dr. Jeff Masters WunderBlog: The National Hurricane Center is forecasting Isaac to reach category 2 status by 2pm EDT on Tuesday. Given the evidence, I agree with this, and will go a step further to say that a major hurricane (category 3+) is not out of the question, nor is a rapid intensification.

I went and look at the water vapor around Isaac. And it showing a outer ring rotating clockwise going around Isaac. I only had seen cat 5 hurricanes having a clockwise rotating ring around them.

False and untrue.
Notice how the spinning stops and the clouds dissipate.
Then they tell us is is to be a Cat 1.
Very bad propaganda.

It will gain strength in the open waters... the government is actually showing signs of panic... which is a bad sign.

It will be a Cat 2, perhaps Cat 3 when it hits landfall.

To those who think this is not a big event, you are very wrong.

FEMA is positioning itself and supplies as is the red cross.

Military movement and evacuations.

All this is not done for a simple rain storm.

Even MSM (Main Stream Media) is confirming it.

CNN weather is reporting that Isaac will "transform" from a Tropical Storm to a CAT 2+ Hurricane by the time it hits Florida.

They are expecting it to increase in power dramatically overnight.

I went into a Publix in Clearwater for lunch today, they were already almost completely out of gallon jugs of water.

WTF people, you've lived here forever and don't have water already stockpiled at the start of the season every year?

Yeah they Hype A lot of these... I know there are some that are very dangerous... but some of these are not even Hurricanes when they hit land...



I love the on they hype about how dangerous it was and than they showed people surfing...

about how some chose to chose protection while others were careless...

but for days they could see that it was not going to be a hurricane when it hit....

The other thing that has me never believe in these guys are the one where they are talking about how fast the winds are and pick up lots of sand and other objects...and it was not it was a guy 5 ft back out of shot kicking up sand with his foot... it was fun cause the camera man panned out too far and sure enough there is a crew guy kick up the sand and other objects..

Wow E Twin, I didn't know you lived in Clearwater! That's my hometown..I am 80 miles north now, but looking to return next spring. I been through all the canes and this one seems harmless so far.

He is better than most meteorologists that I have seen... just needs a little more time in front of the camera and relax so he can relax a little more...

Well, I don't live in Clearwater, I was working there today. I do live in the area, and have for most of my life.

I went up to the Oldsmar Walmart last night for that very reason, everything was gone there as well except for a few jugs. I bought 7, and every person I passed in the store had at least 5, if not more, in their carts. The lines moved quick so it's wasn't a horrible wait.

All of the bread, Spam & Top Ramen noodles were gone. Strangely, so was the ice cream. Can't explain that one.
