Hendo out! Jon Jones turns down fight with Sonnen!

Dang. sucks for Hendo, and especially the other fighters on the card that got cancelled.

Bones' Nike shirt should read:
"Just won't do it"

WHO? Who's jon jones and why should anyone care? Was this a fight instead of a war? Why is it important?

Who's sonnen? Politicians? Actors? What's the importance of the fight?

I'm just a fan of the sport passing along the info. If you follow the sport then you will know why it is relevant.

what's worse is the WHOLE card got cancelled. UFC has REALLY had a ton of issues lately......

I swear seems like the ladies are getting stronger, while the men are getting weaker.

I disagree. I admit there are a few ass clowns but there are still very devoted Martial Artists. But you are entitled to your opinion.

For sure, the new Invicta promotion has helped a TON too.....plus Rousey (though she is a bit big for herself.....). It's really nice to see the ladies getting a bigger stage, they deserve one, and better than to be placed as afterthoughts on male cards, cause they really put on great shows.

I'd prefer the guys and girls to be split really altogether, let them each have their own platforms to shine separate from the other.

As far as this goes though, I think cancelling this card is gonna come back to bite White in the ass. Not a good business decision IMO. Better to have SOMETHING than nothing at all.

Jones is scared. I get it. If Jones were to win, big deal...he beat a fighter who normally doesn't fight at 205, who's coming off of a loss (doesn't deserve title fight - according to Jones), and he's not "in shape."

If Jones loses, what does that say about Jones? I would have paid to watch that fight, just to see a good fight. Honestly, at his worst, I think Chael would take Jones. Ground and pound all the way, and Jones knows it.

He's a scaredy cat, and he's fake. He needs to get the Philippians verse lasered off of his chest because it only highlights his hypocrisy. Guess you can't do ALL things, eh John? Why don't you go drink a few beers with some strange women instead.

Why should Jones take the fight? Sonnen just lost a championship fight. Just because he's going up a weight doesnt mean he deserves another one in another division.

However, when sonnen beats Griffin, he will be in the mix legitimately. Jones refusal now means big hype, big money in the future.

That's what I am saying. Maybe he doesn't think he is the number 1 contender? Or doesn't like him because of his past, but that is no need to turn down the fight. He has destroyed much tougher opponents.

I doubt he is scared. He probably does not want to fight a racist piece of shit who can not even win at 185. You don't lose and then get a shot at a title, it is not how things work. He should have to fight other 205 contenders, win, then get a chance to fight Jones.

I don't get why people think Sonnen deserves the title shot, he's coming off a loss, and he just moved up to 205, never even had a fight there yet, and let's not forget that the only reason he got the title shot against silva was because of the judges, Bisping won that fight. If u want a title shot, u have to earn it, not talk ur way into it. Jones clearly said he's not going to let sonnen talk his way to the title, and that's exactly what Sonnen is trying to do, plus Machida was next in line already, it's retarted that Sonnen was even considered. Very disappointed Hendo is out, was really excited for that fight. To all u mma haters posting on here, what's the matter?, u don't like competition? or u just completely ignorant to what mma actually is? p.s. believe it or not, mma is more a mental game then it is a physical game, a perfect example - Anderson Silva.

Let Davis or Rampage, Machida, etc mop the floor with Sonnon, then give them a rematch vs Jones.

Yeah, it is clear some posters on here have no clue what they are talking about. Dana was retarded for even trying to get this to go through.

Thing is, is that everyone turned down the offer to fight Jones on short notice. Sonnen is the only one to step up to the plate. I agree there are a lot more people deserving of a shot but they said no. I give Sonnen props for stepping up to keep the show going.

I think it's because it's high risk little reward for Jones.

I mean I think Jones would work him, but if by chance he lost, it would look really bad. He doesn't stand to gain much by beating him either..

I mean because of this he pretty much fucked all the other fighters on the card. I mean I understand not wanting to fight Sonnen but you have to think of the other fighters and the organization as a whole. Damn shame...
