Thanks, McKenna was one of the greatest mind on this topic - and many other topics - in this century. Hoffman and Shulgin ranks high up there along with him as well.

Re: Psychedelics: LSD, DMT, Mescalin & Psilocybin - Drug induced enlightenment and mental powers
I did DMT a couple times, What i experienced was this:

I was aware that I was on a plane of which there are several.
It was very pretty but I was the only one there. I knew there were other planes and I wanted to go experience a nicer one but I was stuck.

I would describe it something like this.
Consider an empty egg carton with the lid torn off. You are in one of the 'cups' of the carton. The cup is a plane. You know there are other cups/planes but you are stuck in the one.

I would love to take a trip again but I want to be more in control. I want to choose what plane/planes I want to visit.
I've done that in OBE's without DMT and I learned to just pass by the lower realms/planes.

Working on meditation these days.
 Quoting: Half Past Midnight

I think the best way is to continue what you are doing - working on meditation - as its the ultimate method to experience oneself in a pure way. Substances can only help to open the doors some, and make it easier to re-induce similar experiences without the substance later on.

Sounds like a very common type of experience by the way, also note that DMT experiences are very similar to Salvia Divinorum, which is interesting since these are 2 completely different substances with no molecular similarities at all

I have had the humbling experience of using LSD and Mushrooms. Unfortunately I have not had the honor of using DMT or Aya, effectively anyways. The DMT smoke is just too harsh for me.

2281 Argentina, what are your experiences with psychedelics? What have you taken? What was your favorite and why? :) And then what sparked your further interest to interview online?

Psychedelic substances can help to expand your mind.
However, this is not risk free.

Since I first tried a psychedelic when I was 15 for shamanic-spiritual purposes, which is now almost 20 years ago, until now, there are few I have NOT experienced. All the ones that can be said to be common, or well-known by most people, to large amounts of the lesser known, including most found in Tikhal & Pikhal. My favorites as far as psychedelic ones goes would be Salvia Divinorum, DMT, LSD & LSAs (from plants like Morning Glory, Hawaiian Baby Woodrose, etc), the different 2c's (2c-i, 2c-e, 2c-t-2, 2c-c etc) Mescalin, psilocybe Mushrooms.

Salvia Divinorum & DMT are both very similar in effects, and are useful for direct external experiences of ones spiritual existence and outer worlds, astral projections, out of body experiences etc. S. Divinorum was the first of any type of drug I tried, even before tobacco and alcohol.

LSD, LSA, Mescalin & mushrooms are more "mental", and good for inner journeys in ones own psyche, exploration of the states of mind, see things from new perspectives. Inner Journeys more than voyages into the spiritual external realms.

2c's are interesting since they are as a combination of all of the above, and have been useful for both "inner mental" type of exploration, but also for "outer / external" type of exploration, including travels into past lives. They also have the more positive attribute of being more clear minded and not cause so much mental distortion as the other ones above can induce. The mind and your thoughts are not majorly derailed as they can get on f.ex LS or mushrooms.

My interest in others experiences are to compare and see how other people experience these same substances, as well as other types of substances, what good it has brought them, and what bad. Whether it has helped them significantly in their lives, or caused problems - or been rather neutral. I am interested in the psychological-spiritual aspects and uses of these substances, including for medicinal use as well as shamanic use.

Would you call yourself a shaman? And can you tell me what a shaman does? Thanks for sharing, glad I asked. Clearly, you are the expert on this thread. Kundalini can be activated from LSD and maybe other drugs. What is your experience with that?

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22819416

These experiences made me the person I am right now. Without them I have no idea where I would have ended up. I've had five trips on Mushrooms and only one on LSD. The mushroom trips have given me pieces of knowledge that are astounding but they are very minute compared to Acid. The LSD trip I had was so immense in the amount of information that I absorbed that I will not do it again until next year or when I have finished processing everything (I took it in May of 2012). The Acid has expanded my consciousness so much that I was almost depressed from what I had learned. I have now found that it was such a wonderful gift that I am completely honored to have been given the experience. I believe many people call what I had an Ego Death. It has continued to stay this way since may.

Others would call me that, and have, but not me myself, it is too narrow to properly describe me and my work and interests. My knowledge and experience goes beyond that of the common Shaman, whom in many ways are what I can only call "low level magicians". It is somewhat of a complex topic to get into the details about right here and now, but lets just say I understand the true nature and function of a Ritual, whereas the common shaman only understands that it WORKS, not WHY or HOW it works. Im involved with High Magick, esoteric orders, secret societies, and a more western traditional path as far as the occult & spiritual practices goes. Even though that way to term it itself is limited.

And yes, LSD and many other substances can accidently trigger a Kundalini raising, which is not really a good thing since it will be extremely unexpected and spontaneous and can often cause many problems, usually mentally. Being experienced and familiar with Meditation and Kundalini work BEFORE even trying psychedelics should be a minimum. In addition, psychedelics should never replace true pure self-induced experiences through Meditation, only serve as a tool to expand ones consciousness a bit, unlock the secret doors so to speak. After, one should enter those doors without that key, since one have already unlocked them.

Re: Psychedelics: LSD, DMT, Mescalin & Psilocybin - Drug induced enlightenment and mental powers
Just because your taking a drug(s) does not mean that what your experiencing is forced. Might seem out of the ordinary or something you have not fully experienced before; but all that you see/hear/experience whether on drugs or not is based on what you truly believe deep inside your mind. If you do not believe in such you will not experience it. It might be scary but i think that is because of your closed mind. You do not need to fear what you cant see, if they wanted to cause harm trust me they would have already..

I have not tried mescalin before but im sure that would rock my socks. Out of all the drugs ive tried before only three seems to pass my mental barrier.

I dont want to post what they do to keep my spirit guides/energy from getting negative vibes from anyone who doesnt have an open mind or believe. I will however tell what drugs enhance my conscious. If you want to talk more leave a message on here with your account name and i will pm you.

The drugs are: DXM, Nitrous canisters (whippits), and Diphenhydramine (sleeping pills).

Re: Psychedelics: LSD, DMT, Mescalin & Psilocybin - Drug induced enlightenment and mental powers
I find reading the experiences of others absolutely fascinating, but to be honest I'm far too chicken to actually try!
DMT is especially interesting because users experiences sound like the most plausible description of a possible external (hyper?)-reality; there's a kind of familiarity to how people describe a DMT trip.
Maybe one day I'll pluck up the courage actually to try it, if I can find a good sitter to make sure I'm ok.

One thing I've read several times is the phrase 'ego death', what does that actually mean in terms that a novice can understand?

I think someone forgot to throw ketamine into the mix. A K-hole is amazing, even better than DMT IMO, because at least when you come out of it you are back to normal pretty quickly. Never had a bad trip on K, but definitely on DMT.

Well I didnt mention Ketamine because it is not of importance or interest to me. It only gives either strange blackouts or effects similar to spinning around in a washer machine, or the sensation of being a robot where my body is controlled remotely from somewhere else, not pleasant and rather disturbing.
