TBH the majority of them are not. the majority of the people who spout that off are just people interested in getting you to place money where they have placed options. McAlvany has been around, give specifics for why things are going to happen and in this case even give a timeline.

Most of the other examples I have seen are the same people who give out advice on penny stocks and drop the stock once it breaks 15% on open.

Thanks for posting this! I have a situation today where I am meeting with a friend who wants to expand his business and wants me on board. In this video, this man expressly says "use extreme caution and don't try to expand your business right now". I am going to show my friend this video instead of trying to explain this myself and hopefully he will take it to heart.

I agree with most of what he says, but people must consider that the Euro may be greatly weakened if countries began to leave it and return their own country's money. And if Germany leaves, the Euro will not be a threat to the dollar.

That's just his sales pitch at the end. I was referring more to the timeline and math in the video.

Personally I think his outlook is too optimistic... For a starter if Germany in September rule in the high courts that the bailouts are not constitutional then its game over for the Euro... that's the first hurdle.. secondly Greece will have to Exit soon... and with Spain, Italy, Portugal and Ireland all in trouble and looking for bail out money... I think we are looking at a collapse scenario, these are the times people will talk about in the future and we are living it....

That debt is supposed to have future value in terms of the current purchasing power of the dollar (since the dollar is the reserve currency). If the debt cannot be repaid in full, in the assumed current purchasing power, then it needs to be either discounted or liquidated outright in bankruptcy.

But that same debt has been re-hypothicated multiple times through the magic of derivatives. Even a small portion of discounted or liquidated debt in bankruptcy may have magnified effects on the world's economy.

Basically, any debt only has "value" in the context of an ever exponentially increasing environment of growth. The growth is always linear but the debt increases or outpaces growth exponentially. Since we live in a finite world, reality eventually trumps fantasy. Guessing when that moment of clarity arrives is the key.
