He wanted to be declared sane to legitimize his cause, not to get a lighter sentance. If insane he would have been eligable for reassesment and potentially freed *every year*. The sentance is for 21 years, not 10, eligable for parole after 10, which is unlikly yo be granted. After 21 years additional 5 years will be added if he is unrepentant of his crime.

As he is a nutter, he'll keep himself in jail for his "cause" the rest of his life.

Maybe the truth can still come out over time. Maybe he'll even acknowledge it himself.

I don't think he's a nutter. He chose the wrong execution of the right idea. These fellows that go on mass murder sprees always draw negative attention and hurt their cause but I don't think they are nuts. They just don't understand the response their actions will bring and usually it seems they get a response that is 180 from the response they seek.

You know nothing about the Norwegian justice system. Yes he will live comfortably in prison. I would like life in there a living hell for him, as would many of my fellow countrymen. But this is how it is for now.

He was however sentenced to 21 years, with a special clause that will allow us to keep him in prison for life.
