LOUISIANA SALT DOME COLLAPSE -- UPDATE THREAD #01 -- 24-AUG-2012
List of threads related to the Bayou Corne / Napoleonville Louisiana / Texas Brine Salt Dome collapse.

Please feel free to add any other threads I've missed to the list.

Let's please try to follow the naming scheme I've used for this thread, and post into the latest thread, so we can more easily keep up with this instead of having so many threads with different names and postings flying around all over.

Thanks!

Oh wouldn't this just be fantastic:

Isaac might hit oil, gas heart
[link to www.examiner.com]

..."Tropical Storm Isaac has a 50 percent probability of moving into the heart of the oil and gas production region including south Louisiana, according to predictions late Thursday.

As south Louisiana swamplands battle BP's ongoing oil spill catastrophe, recent oil and gas related evacuations and a giant sinkhole, Tropical Storm Isaac could also affect the area."...

How unfortunate for some rulers when men, women, and children continue to think... Keep repeating the lies loud enough and long enough and just maybe the people will start to believe the lies again and good luck with that...finding your energy open until mars becomes raging aries...

Do you guys think they even have 40 days before a massive breech happens? If it continues to grow like it has and the butane was ?1500feet? away, I would think it would reach that before 40 days. And even then they are only saying they are drilling the hole so they can do testing.

40 days is how long they are saying it will take to finish the well they are drilling to TRY to see if the Texas Brine Dome is the cause of the sinkhole, but in my knowledge and experience, doing seismic evaluation would seem a MUCH wiser option.

Also, personally, I don't think it is very wise to be drilling into a suspected (MORE LIKE DEFINITELY) collapsing dome, ala' the Lake Peigneur disaster, which videos of that have been posted in many of the threads.

If you did not see the video on the Lake Peigneur disaster, watch them here:

In the swamp, on top of a collapsing salt dome which is being watched VERY closely?

I'd have to guess, that also, there will be ZERO shortcuts taken.

Isaac not looking good...

I'm an old mariner with an instinct for marine weather.

And, I will predict, AS THEY ALWAYS HAVE, that it will be closer to the heart of the Oil & Gas infrastructure in south-east / south-central Louisianan than what they are predicting currently.

How does the weight of 5'-10' of water over the dome collapse area sound?

And wouldn't industry LOVE that, blame it on a hurricane...

After Katrina, just about all of New Orleans came here; many stayed and a lot of the others who returned to Louisiana I still keep in contact with them.

Isaac slowly modeling further and further westward...
As I predicted. [link to www.weatherbellmodels.com]

Intensity models slowly going up also: [link to derecho.math.uwm.edu]

Will be like throwing jet fuel on a fire as it approaches the much warmer waters closer to the shoreline of the northern Gulf Coast.

US Navy is predicting 105-knot (120mph) gusts at landfall, as of their latest. I think it will go up further.

Now, did anyone ever find out who actually owns that radioactive waste or the butane?

They capped it last year due to problems, so they have to drill another hole to see whats going on as they cannot check where it was originaly drilled.
