Yeah they would defo have been poisoning him starting in his adolescences with toxins and drugs.
I'm not saying this because I know...It's just that common sense would lead me to believe that every underhanded tactic would have been used by 'them' to make this guy a non-threat when he started to manifest his power in adulthood...
Probably one of the reasons why this guy is a "Nobody" in their eyes because the drugging/poisoning tactics worked to the extent of keeping him out of a higher class in society(down trodden, depressed, self destructive, bordering on suicide)...but only to the point of his manifestation...Now they are up shits creek without a paddle.
He's probably f*ckin' pissed and has twice the determination to bring them down as he would if they just left him alone.
