Re: Don't make ASSUMPTIONS; try to Understand.
Good morning Everyone...interesting article.

While it’s no ice-nine, a frozen form of methane trapped in ocean sediments could be cause for concern. Warm Gulf Stream waters off the east coast of North America are converting large amounts of the substance into methane gas, which could lead to underwater landslides and influence global climate.

A good portion of the biological carbon on Earth is stored in the seafloor as methane hydrate, a frozen mixture of methane and water formed at high pressure and low temperature. Changes in the temperature or direction of the Gulf Stream, which carries warm water north from the Gulf of Mexico, have heated sediments in a strip along the North Atlantic seafloor by 8 degrees Celsius, unlocking 2.5 billion metric tons of methane from deep-sea caches, scientists report in the Oct. 25 Nature.

This is the first study to suggest that methane hydrate melting is related to ocean currents themselves, says study coauthor Benjamin Phrampus, an Earth scientist at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Previous studies suggested that the global ocean temperature would have to increase to cause hydrate breakdown, which would take a very huge input of energy, he says. “We don’t need this large amount of energy to explain this. It’s simply a change in the ocean currents.”

Good Morning. That is a very interesting article.

I was glad to hear Texas Brine yesterday in the briefing (Cartwright I believe is his name) state: the oil/gas in the sink hole "appears to be coming from a finite source" this is good news is it not?

More truth w/in lies I'm afraid...sure the source is finite, isn't any fossil fuel or natural formation? How finite is the question, not finite enough to stop the calamity from occurring unfortunately would be an educated answer.

The Methane Hydrate Layer spans most of the planet, as the viruses and bacteria continue to consume it the pressure under the bedrock will continue to build, the gas will make it's way into every crack and crevice it can find. I don't like being a defeatist however we need to look at this w/out rose-colored glasses in order to stay safe.

Seems this is a common occurance...

I could find no report why the rupture happened.

This just in...

It has been reported to us that there was a sharp tremor recorded by USGS monitors at approximately 9:06 last night. The tremor was large enough that the body wave phases could easily be identified. The preliminary location was just SE of Oxy #3 cavern at a depth of 500m. There is no additional information specific to this seismic activity at this time.

 Quoting: Paa Tal

"NEW ORLEANS (AP) — BP says it has capped and plugged an abandoned piece of equipment that is believed to be the source of a sheen spotted near the site of the 2010 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

The London-based oil giant said Thursday that it successfully placed a 750-pound cap over an 86-ton steel container that the company had deployed in a failed effort to contain the spill. BP also inserted plugs on the top and sides of the container.

BP and the Coast Guard both say no oil has been seen leaking out of the container since it was capped and plugged.

The sheen appeared on the surface of the Gulf in September. BP plans to monitor the sheen by satellite for several more days."

They capped and plugged a container that had previously failed to contain the spill...and now they think it was going to work?? Why didn't they do that to begin with?

I'm not believing their story.

I saw them. But most of the movement is only during business hours, so I would attribute it to drilling, heavy machinery, etc. Still, its disconcerting.

Confused now thought the oil sheen was due to old equipment left there. Now they have capped something to stop it. They should at least try to get one story together.

maybe plasticizers are linked to morgellans, who knows

on the bigger picture
in my humble opinion, this guy is a casualty of a war going one that we do not see
industry/bankers/private armies/international interests are all at war. the CNBC guy, the weird brit wacked in the campground in france, breitbart, matt s, the list goes on and on

look at it this way, we are the people who live in the "action movie" but can't see the action movie part
only pieces and parts of the whole. think tanks, abc groups, corp board rooms, and back door political meetings are all places we will never be the fly on the wall of. so all we can do is observe, and act upon things in our direct control

now with that said.....

I would like to get an idea of the attitude of the residents.
How many are at those meetings?
(can't view vids)
How many have left and are "out of pocket?
How many actual residences are next to, or within 2 lots of the sinkhole?

reason being, It seems obvious the people are getting less input of actual answers, so maybe its time to "ramp it up" and get some pressure put on from somewhere.

just brainstorming, not trying to butt into local affairs

I have to ask, how do you early warning an EQ? predictive technology? yea, right
that thing is probably more like the stupid "captain obvious" neighbor that runs out the door during the 6.5 level earthquake shouting "E..Q..!E..Q..!E..Q..!" and you are "really, wow, I didn't f'g notice"

maybe just hook up an mp3 player to says "oh shit" and as the ground shakes more and more, the volumn goes up, and it says it faster...lol
