La. sinkhole methane explosion possible says sheriff, refuting naysayers:

The Assumption Parish sheriff stated that methane ignition and explosion are possible in the Bayou Corne sinkhole area, refuting naysayers about such an explosion and spotlighting grave human rights issues related to the "history-making event" and "environmental nightmare,’ according to a KLFY Channel 10 three-part special televised report aired Friday.

The possibility exists that Louisiana's sinkhole-related methane, percolating in over a dozen sites near and miles away from the sinkhole area, could ignite and cause an explosion, according to Assumption Parish Sherriff Michael J. Waguespack, interviewed about the unprecedented Bayou Corne event unfolding in South Louisiana's swampland.

Waguespack, lover of south Louisiana people and culture, made the statement to KLFY reporter Chuck Huebner about the massive amount of methane known to be trapped below the Assumption Parish sinkhole area surface, continually leaking and bubbling to the surface.

DNA testing is usually done by the public to rule out disease, not to look for it. I'd have to see a medical journal study confirming this.

Methane hydrate ice is denser than seawater at 6000'. You can stir chunks of it up, but it will eventually settle back to the bottom. You can melt it if there's something hot (like oil) next to it, but there's also billions of gallons of freezing cold water around it. You can't really heat up a large area without something like a shift in deep Gulf currents.

Methane hydrate also needed fresh water to form initially. If something melts it at the bottom of the Gulf, then it will not reform even though it is still below freezing and compressed to thousands of PSI of pressure. Some stays dissolved in the water column, and some forms bubbles. It depends on the conditions when it formed.

This has nothing to do with the salt dome or natural gas (methane) accumulating there (my opinion). The sediment is too warm for water to freeze, and the natural gas is not under enough pressure. The natural gas around Napoleonville is just regular old formation natural gas that was always trapped in the deep formations (Big Hum sands or whatever) with the crude."


So maybe methane hydrate explosion is not the fear, but the aquifer is?
Any comments?

I wish like hell I knew what was in the thread. All I know is I went to click on it and by the time the page loaded it was deleted, so I googled 'synthia in new york dna' and it is the blurb under the first result. I wish like hell someone would point me to where the info from it went. I've been looking myself, but I've often been surprised at some of the information that I've found here and could not find information on until I was pointed in the right direction. The google results should bring up what I saw, but it just wigged me out that I had a dream about a zombie apocalypse in NYC two weeks before Sandy hit, and I've never dreamed about zombies, and lo and behold, that shit pops up and gets deleted within hours of its original posting. Given the other information that can be found if you search about GLP... it's extremely disturbing.

I saw the first post of this thread and nothing else...it showed a woman basically acting nuts...to a music soundtrack- was quite bizarre....
Unfortunately I had the computer on mute so dont know much else.

GLP is an odd addiction. I would not be at all surprised if this site is a social science laboratory.

So, is anyone going to bring up the effing creepy Simpson's episode last night? With all of the hype that followed the 911/Simpson's weirdness, this is quite disconcerting.

We don't see those episodes until they are old here so u would have to tell me what type of weirdness.
