In space, supposedly, a person without a space suit will implode because the pressure inside our bodies is greater than space (which is 'zero') Since the highpressure is above (the hurricane) could this then draw the sinkhole 'upwards' or 'outwards' -- especially with that leaking methane and the butane dome nearby. Could this be what causes the explosion? Hurricanes are low pressure systems, not high pressure systems. Think of a beautiful clear sunny day and you have the picture of a high pressure system. Hurricanes also typically don't have lightening in them.
