| Anodyne339 User ID: 23138303 09/04/2012 02:37 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | As others have pointed out, the "college kid writing a paper" scenario is highly unlikely to be valid, for various reasons. As I see it, there are four main possibilities: 1) The OP is just an asshole who was hoaxing us for his/her own amusement, and posted the "college kid writing a paper" bit to either provoke cries of "Cover-up!" or to shut down the thread because he/she became bored with it. 2) The entire thread was intended to focus our attention on the sinkhole and environs to keep us from looking elsewhere at something else. 3) The thread was intended to discredit people questioning the sinkhole situation by making them appear foolish and credulous. 4) The OP was for real, was tracked and identified, and the "college kid" post was intended to bring the thread to a halt. Speaking for myself, whenever someone says, "Look over there!" I immediately start to wonder what they're trying to divert my attention from. This could apply to either 2), 3) or 4), frankly. At this point I have no conviction about any of these possibilities, which means I'm still paying attention to the sinkhole as well as to everything else that pops up. Trust no one. Question everything. Believe that anything is possible. Last Edited by Anodyne339 on 09/04/2012 02:42 AM |

| Halo2Alexis User ID: 19267175 09/04/2012 10:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Nope, we'll keep looking, thanks. Never know what we might find. Personally, when someone tells me there's nothing to see, I like to start looking harder. Just because. Exactly. The student has been compromised. Or, he's just a complete douchebag. Either way, the first batch of information coming from that IP address is blindingly different than the simple "This thread is history" posts bouncing recently. Either it's the same person behind the desk, or someone hacked the account. If it was all bullshit, why is all the information behind the IP posts verified? It's too detailed, the information threaded together by a "simple guessing game", too fresh with data and current breaking news feeds, to be a fake. And the research paper theory has been debunked. It's too damn time consuming, IMO, to write a paper on something that's been covered a million times by a million college students, a million different ways. Too easy a cover story. I'm still personally archiving the page & links. Bite my ass, FEMA. "These are only my opinions. You should see my convictions." "Paranoia? Hell, no. Heightened awareness is more like it." The hydrocarbons originated from liquid overflow from the F-20 blowdown stack following the operation of the raffinate splitter overpressure protection system caused by overfilling and overheating of the tower contents. The failure to institute liquid rundown from the tower, and the failure to take effective emergency action, resulted in the loss of containment that preceded the explosion.
