Both space weather and eq's are quiet today, looks like we may get a lil respite for a day or two. The pressure on the magnetosphere (solar storms) has a direct affect on all the fault systems as many know, hopefully things will ease a bit. I think I have a loose grip on it. I am wondering how the colder weather may effect this situation? Thanks I don't see where the cooler weather will have any positive or negative effect on the situation in Assumption AW, however any hurricane in the area could have a devastating effect and for the first time that I'm aware we are now having named wintercanes...could be something, could be nothing at all but worth mentioning. The goal is to better communicate the threat and the timing of the significant impacts that accompany those events.
A storm with a name is easier to follow, which will mean fewer surprises and more preparation.
Hurricanes and tropical storms have been given names since the 1940s.
