More sharp tremors coming from below giant sinkhole — Back-to-back quakes late Wednesday just reported — “It doesn’t mean it’s leading to something big” -Expert

[link to enenews.com]

Weeks before the sinkhole opened up there were tremors. Let's hope another one isn't about to pop open close by.
And, good morning, friends.

"Dawg" did mention 95... in one of his post. And it seems Sandy is running all along the east coast 95! My first post on this site, but I have followed this post from day one. Not sure if any connection but is interesting

Thanks for the updates EC, still following everyday. Had 2 days of Sandy wind and rain here in SE Florida. The storm has some power for sure, be safe up the Eastern seaboard.

So, these tremors are getting stronger or at least more recurrent, the analysis by dr, TR, Sin and other posters is very much appreciated.

Scientists question if seismic activity near giant sinkhole is from trying to remove crude oil and gas from failed salt cavern to keep it from bubbling to surface

Im pretty sure he was talking about the 95 longitude, not the highway(since there isn't one down there that I could find), but 95 long. runs through east TX.

I think we still missed some stuff when it comes to that post. But it took me until just a few days ago to finally get GLP on my home computer. Maybe I should start over on this thread and re-read the entire thing. Lord knows it fried my brain the first time, though, so I might wait until the weekend's over.

yup it's called "the carbon sequestration program": they
are capturing waste CO2 from industrial processes and
pumping it deep into the crust... kind'a like sweeping
the dirt under the rug.

How Fracking Could Disrupt CO2 Sequestration

 Quoting: Dr Einstein

This article seems to be asking the wrong question.

The question is: Should CO2 be injected in the ground to hide it. Hide it from what I am not sure really.

I am glad Citronelle, LA where the government is injecting tons of this into the earth there, is not 20 min away from Assumption. It is 4 hours away, but still that area clearly is being used experimentally and with little care for those who live there.

[link to www.usea.org]

(actually this looks more like a government/private partnership.....it is not a .gov address)

Thanks for your info...hf
 Quoting: allisaTX

I live about two miles northeast of there. (Citronelle, AL being the 'there') That's extremely disturbing.
 Quoting: Anaiah

It does seem disturbing. I don't know much about it, but it seems like a way to dispose of waste and they have not revealed much about it to the public.

Re: Don't make ASSUMPTIONS; try to Understand.
Hope this might answer some questions You can find it on Wikapedia under CO2..
Oil recovery

Carbon dioxide is used in enhanced oil recovery where it is injected into or adjacent to producing oil wells, usually under supercritical conditions. This kind of production may increase original oil recovery by 7 per cent to 23 per cent further from primary extraction.[26] It acts as both a pressurizing agent and, when dissolved into the underground crude oil, significantly reduces its viscosity, enabling the oil to flow more rapidly through the earth to the removal well.[27] In mature oil fields, extensive pipe networks are used to carry the carbon dioxide to the injection points.

Coal bed methane recovery

In enhanced coal bed methane recovery, carbon dioxide is pumped into the coal seam to displace methane

Now if this area is interconnected due to fracking, and they are pumping this at 9000'.. What would be your conclusion.. Funny they started pumping in August..

...didn't we hear this is a unique problem in the world?

...like at the last community meeting?

The cavern in question - Bayou Choctaw Cavern 20 near Baton Rouge - now sits within 60 feet from the edge of a salt dome, defying federal requirements for a salt barrier of at least 300 feet to contain stored material. Seismic research in 2009 detected the problem and showed that the cavern had leached toward the edge of the salt dome.

how far is Bayou Choctaw salt dome from Bayou Corne? if you google "Bayou Choctaw salt dome la" it lists much info on their problem, maps graphs and much more detail that we lack with Bayou Corne....maybe their world wide search for help should also include the local area, and agencies that deal with this type of situation....

Similar but also different, the crude in this case is not coming from the cavern and neither is the gas. There have been cavern problems before, there are a few lakes that have been made by them. But the oil this time is from a natural source and surfacing, I think that is the unique bit.

Actually, no, they just rehashed information posted.

Many posters have worked hard to dig and find real info, connect the dots . . . "dawg" would just pop in and post cryptic messages that were actually repeating what others posted.

Read the very first message in this thread . . . it offers nothing but an insinuation that many people were already following.

In a situation as serious as the sinkhole, no one needs game-playing and derfwads interjecting mysterious little notes of nothing.
