Yep, apparently she survived !

She does have a severed foot/leg (dunno exactly) and a few broken ribs...but her life is basically changed forever due to one inadvertent moment ! :(

It appears she is semi-OK as she immediately sits up after the tram stopped. Not sure about her legs though.

She is clearly mostly to blame here for jaywalking but also the conductor of the tram was going way to fast and didn't even bother to warn her he was approaching !

I've been on one of those trams and the conductors are doing 40 Mph in areas where they shouldn't exceed 25 Mph !

I agree she should of been paying more attention but who among us hasn't come close to getting hit by a car while we were hurrying to get to work on time, get to an interview, etc !

Bottom line is, this can happen to anyone ! One careless moment and that's all it takes !

Although in this case, the girl wasn't a runner she was just in a hurry to get someplace and jaywalked !

Yeah man, I get your point...it's just that I was always on the receiving end of traffic issues :)so that's why I'm probably more sympathetic to this case.

I used to have a motorbike and I got pretty banged up a couple of times by some incompetent drivers who got their licenses by bribing certain individuals, but that's a whole different story .

Nope, it won't work for 2 simple reasons !

1.This is not the US where people sue each other for practically anything.

2.She was jaywalking and has no case against anyone.

Don't know if that's the case but the first thing that came to my mind is that she could have been listening to music and didn't hear either the tram or the driver shouting a warning. Lots of young people are completely clueless about the danger they are putting themselves into with these devices.
