More Time Line Oddness ...
... Left the house after 8pm, did a squirrely drive to the lake which is usually a 45 minute drive. Got to the lake, hiked to a good cove, swam - 3 times.

Left the lake, stopped by a restaurant that was no longer serving food, but hubby watched a bit of movie with the owner of said restaurant. And I helped the lady clean up.

Drove up an old cattle road in the high side of the county we were in and walked the road. Sat down and smoked at cig or two as we watched the sky.

Returned home at midnight.

How is that possible?

I was still wet - even my hair - from swimming ....

When I returned home it was as though no more than an hour had passed.

Mrs. Todd's Shortcut?

Oh yeah, and we stopped at a bridge and walked a bit.

All that in 4 hours?

Mrs. Todd's Shortcut?

Stephen King fans will know.

The ride to the lake and back is a good hour and a half ...

Wow.

Someone in your vicinity must have called up Fotomecus, lol.

Re: More Time Line Oddness ...
Perception.

You left at 7:39, but you'd 'planned' to leave at 8.
Thus in your head you are already subtracting that additional 21 minutes.

Then you drive a road that generally takes you 45 minutes, but as you were driving 'squirelly' it actually only took you 32 minutes, earning you an additional 13 minutes.

At this point, you have an extra 53 minutes in play that you have already discounted.

The hike to the cove actually took half the time you are calculating, as the scenery provided a mind wandering aspect.

Swimming likewise, takes a lot less time than it feels like. Take adult swims for instance, what feels like an enternity to the kids feels like a few minutes to us but in reality...

The restaurant was closed but not yet cleaned, this means it was shortly after closing and I would expect the place closed at 10pm. This puts you out of the lake and at the restaurant by then.

Watching 'a bit' of a movie suggests 30 minutes or less, as most movies these days average 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes, any more than 30 minutes wouldn't have been 'a bit' and would have been 'the movie'.

While you were cleaning and chatting, time passed slowly to you, making it feel like an hour had passed when in reality it had only been 15 minutes.

So, you go to head home, thinking you'd been there for at the very least an hour or more, yet in reality it had been about 45 minutes.

This puts it at about 10:40 and with the subsequent drive home not being 'squirelly' you arrive at shortly before midnight and marvel at the time paradox!

Perception.

Oh ya I am learning time management when bidding jobs: it's amazing how much time actions take!

8pm - 12am = 4 hours

1 1/2 driving
14 misc (clothes change)
1/2 swimming
1 movie
24 min cigs, (8 min ea.)
6 min bridge
15 min clocks not synched

oooh you are missing 15 min

ok, 15 min dicking around, walk from car etc

verdict: you need to take some more time off. You deserve a break. You are suffering from stress.

Good try, lol hf

No, I know we left after 8pm and didn't go directly to the lake, we drove about a bit in downtown (in other words, we did not take a direct route to the lake) and then stopped at the bridge which is the last place I saw a best friend before she died.

We left there and went to the lake - the walk, especially when you can't see well and have to walk over rocky beaches, is at least 15 or more minutes each way. I swam, drank a beer and smoked two cigs.

We stopped by the restaurant - they were out of food and I helped the wife of the duo clean as my hubby and her hubby watched bits of a movie the restaurant owner is making. I helped clean the dining areas and discussed at length a medical problem the wife is having. Had a glass of wine as we talked and I certainly didn't gulp it down.

Left there and parked at a cattle road and walked a good half mile and then we sat over-looking an awesome valley and talked a bit and smoked a couple more butts.

We returned home a bit before midnight and were both amazed at how much had transpired and my clothes and hair were still wet as though I had just come out of the water.

Hubby isn't a woowoo like me and even he kept commenting on how odd it was.

Not stress - simple amazement.

As I said to the other poster - hubby is not a woowoo like me and he was freaking out. Cuz as a guy who also has to manage time in his corporate world - he was blown away.
