The reason why the magnitude is getting stronger is because the lava is finding more resistance the higher it climbs, this causing the bigger EQs. These big ones will continue at shallow depths until finds a way out and pops... |

There are lots of geothermal power plants around here that use fracking techniques to extract the steam to drive the turbines.
