You should all look into your local city laws. More and more cities are allowing backyard small chicken coops and a few chickens within city limits. If youre willing to process your own and not squeamish about it, Its worth looking into, or at least for some home grown eggs

Tractor Supply store is a nice chain store thats in many states and will have everything you need to raise your own chickens including pre made chicken coops, feed , and instruction books.

I have hens for eggs only. We are a no-kill farm.

Leading water scientists have issued one of the sternest warnings yet about global food supplies, saying that the world's population may have to switch almost completely to a vegetarian diet over the next 40 years to avoid catastrophic shortages.

Humans derive about 20% of their protein from animal-based products now, but this may need to drop to just 5% to feed the extra 2 billion people expected to be alive by 2050, according to research by some of the world's leading water scientists.

"There will not be enough water available on current croplands to produce food for the expected 9 billion population in 2050 if we follow current trends and changes towards diets common in western nations," the report by Malik Falkenmark and colleagues at the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) said

What if there are about 4 billion less mouths to feed by the end of 2013?

If the earth changes continue, there could be about 1/2 of the population of the earth gone in the next 25 years.

I don't think this would be a bad thing. I think it would be better b/c raising cattle takes a lot of land that can be used to grow veggies.

It is a ridiculous assumption that we will grow so big we will be unsustainable.

Everyone knows there will be a WW3 by then
