Smart Meter...RANT!!!!!!
I know this is long...but this is a good story. Everyone in America should be worried over just how far DHS is reaching into our lives.

On June 16, 2012, some thug from Oncor power rattled me out of bed by pounding on my front door. He woke me up, shoved a door hanger in my face that read, “We’ve just installed a smart meter on your home”, and told me I needed to open my gate to let him into my back yard.

Having just jumped out of bed I said, “Hold on, let me get dressed. I will talk to you in a minute.” I threw on some clothing and went outside to confront the big burly intimidating dude sporting a hard hat.

I explained that I did not want a smart meter installed on my home for two reasons. One, I am EMF sensitive. Two, I feel that electronic surveillance by Oncore/TXU was a violation of my fourth amendment rights. He responded, “Well, If you do not let us into your yard, we will turn your power off.” I replied, “Go ahead, and do it.”

We exchanged words and he threatened to call the police on me because I WAS HARASSING HIM! Really? At that point, I told him to get off my property, went back into my house and locked the door.

Immediately, I printed out a sign that read, “We refuse to allow you to install a smart meter on our premises. We object to this because of privacy and health issues,” signed and dated it then duct taped it to my existing power meter. I took photos of my meter and the notice that I posted.

For the next 2 days, I was on the phone calling my government representatives. What I discovered is there were two bills in congress, which both contain smart meter language.

One was CISPA the internet security bill that allows DoE to evaluate smart meters for energy efficiency. It also allows DHS to monitor them for abnormal power usage that may indicate illegal activity. The second bill was HR 3674 sponsored by Dan Lungren of CA.

Over the next few months, I watched with interest as Texans debated smart meters. Currently, the Texas state legislature is considering an opt-out program for the smart meters.

I also received a personal letter from Senator Jane Nelson that states, “It is very likely that this issue will be revisited by the next Legislature. Please know I will keep your concerns firmly in mind during our discussions.”

Fast forward to today.

I walked around the side of my house to get something out of the shed and was horrified to discover that sometime in the past few days a smart meter was installed was on my house!

Not only did they install a smart meter but they scaled a 6-foot solid wood fence and busted the top of the fence into pieces in their effort to gain illegal access to my property. (Of course, I have pictures and videos of the damage)

I phoned the police who explained to me that since I have a 6 - foot fence and a locked gate with no public access, the Oncor people were in total violation of criminal trespass. Tomorrow I will be on the phone with everyone including the Texas State Attorney General to voice my complaints.

All that being said, I feel like I have been raped! I feel totally violated and not safe in my own home! I denied access to these people months ago, yet they find a way to scale my fence like Seal Team 6 going after Bin Laden and slip away without being noticed only to leave a path of destruction in their wake.

Actually I’m glad I did not catch them trespassing. If I did, you would probably be hearing some trumped up version of this story on the evening news.

And I don’t like handcuffs or orange jumpsuits. I'm mad as hell and really upset!!!

Anyone else have a smart meter story to share?

Do what I did after my land lady installed a smart meter on her property and I have to live with it...after making us chronic fatigued and affecting both of our healths, unfortunately she is asleep and think whatever they say is safe then do it...I am also very EMF sensitive and this was literally driving me crazy, including the wireless access.

I bought earthcalm products from this store, it has really helped me especially the home system that protects you from smart meters, emf, microwave radiation, wireless and cell towers,

Not only am I sleeping better, but also now have energy and not feeling so crappy all the time, bought a pendent that I wear outside to protect me from emf and also a usb to protect me from the wireless. It can make you really sick and irritated emfs.

Hi OP! I'm in N. Calif. and I refused a smart meter from PGE. We have a locked gate at our driveway and I refused to open it when the installer called from the gate asking for entrance. He was a little irked when I told him No. Now I have to pay a one time fee of 75 dollars and ten dollars a month but I feel its worth it to keep my old meter.

That's crazy, OP.
I don't have much of a story, but my Dad feels the same about the new meters as you do. He had his own issues with the people trying to install one. They came to my parents house three times trying to install. My dad finally got a hold of someone, I'm not sure who excatly, and said he did not want the new meter.
He was given a sticker to put on his old meter and has been left alone... minus the extra 70 dollars a month it now costs him to be an Opt-Out customer. Rediculous.

Hm... Or maybe it's just one time fee as MercyMe said... ha. Sorry, but either way, it seems stupid to be made to pay anything to be allowed to refuse something.

Disable it.

Dismantle it.

Get a back-up generator until they replace it with an old magnetic meter.

Or go hire an electrician to do it.

I refused a smart meter on my old property as well as on my new one.

Total violation of the 4th Amendment.

Thank you for your suggestions. I wear an organite pendent and have a few organite pyramids. I do everything in my power to reduce EMF's. I sleep in a room with no electronics, take supplements including Rhodiola to counter the effects of EMF and radiation.

For the past few days I felt sick and did not know why...Now I know!

What really upsets me is that I am a property owner yet apparently anyone can come onto your property and do whatever they want.

I don't know what is making me sicker...the new meter or the loss of my rights.

The irony is (at the moment) money is not an issue. I would be willing to pay what ever opt-out fee they wanted. I was not given a choice.

And once they stick that thing on the side of your house...There is no getting it off or going back to the old meter.

Re: Smart Meter...RANT!!!!!!
ONCOR came to my house back in May to install a smart meter. We had never been notified that they were going to do so, and we never got notified that if we refused they would remove our meters and the wiring. I refused to allow the ONCOR installer onto my property. I called ONCOR and after a bit of back and forth I learned that I had no choice...either I submit or they really would take out my meter and all the wiring that connects me to the grid.

There is NO opt-out for Texas. The choices are to submit, or provide my own electricity. I can't afford that kind of generator, nor can I afford to go with photovoltaic panels. I'm screwed.

I made that comment to the customer service person, and then told her that I guess I have no options but to accept. Put me on the list.

Nobody came. Nobody in the entire neighborhood has gotten a smart meter to date. I was to be the first in the subdivision (I'm first house in). Everything was halted.

I called ONCOR again to make sure I was on the list for install. I got a profound apology from a supervisor after I explained that there was NO notice that the new meters were to be installed, and there was no notice of our options. The supervisor was profuse with her apologies.

Turns out NO ONE had received any notice from ONCOR, not even on their electricity bills, stating that they would be changing out the meters.

The process has ground to a halt for now.

I don't want a smart meter. They suck. Everyone I know who has gotten on has ended up with worse electric bills. I wish I could go off-grid, but I can't afford such a thing. This is maddening.

I posted a sign next to my meter that says:

"I am disabled, and also have extreme sensitivities to EMF's, microwaves, and chemicals. I have been this way my entire life. I cannot and do not even own a cell phone or WIFI. Though I am disabled, I am not too disabled to meet trespassing (the property is posted) and any attempt to put a "smart meter" on my home, with deadly force. Consider this your only warning."

Cowgirl, thank you that information. I had to file an injunction against our electric utility company. I had initially filed an 'opt-out' document prior to any of this nonsense materializing. The Judge ask for my 'opt-out' document then turned to the Comed rep. and attorney and said, 'STAY OFF THIS MANS PROPERTY, OR ELSE'. I'm trying like the dickens to finish with my solar panel and wind turbin installation. Comed has been watching my progress from our street and wanted to know if I would sell them the residual power? Of course they would have to install and SMART METER. LMAO

We're dealing with a very evil presents on this planet. The deal with the smart meter program is in line with the NWO and they want three super computers to run our lives while we are still enslaved to them.

I'm pretty sure I've seen leaflets about smart meters being installed in the UK. I try to keep wifi off as much as I can, though my brother constantly turns it on. Apparently he needs to surf in private and at 3am in his room. Oh I wonder what he could be looking at? <_< he always forgets to turn it off. Some of the major broadband suppliers use "home hub" type devices that I'm pretty sure are wifi only, which keeps me from upgrading. I've no idea if I'm wifi sensitive, but I hear those that have been exposed to heavy metals are more susceptible (I have masses off metal fillings). I often feel mentally foggy and have phantom migraines/ringing in ears etc. On the whole EMF issue, my whole family pretty much thinks I'm a nut job. Honestly, bring the subject up; guarantee you they all think you're mad or stupid.

wrap the meter in foil to block the emf then enclose it in a steel cage. They come to see why it isn't reporting they will have to ask to remove the cage or damage your house. They damage the house take them to court. Park a camera on the meter to catch them in the act.

Xcel stuck one on my house and I promptly wrapped it. I told them no, I am a ham operator and the damn things mess up my radio.

Re: Smart Meter...RANT!!!!!!

I posted a sign next to my meter that says:

"I am disabled, and also have extreme sensitivities to EMF's, microwaves, and chemicals. I have been this way my entire life. I cannot and do not even own a cell phone or WIFI. Though I am disabled, I am not too disabled to meet trespassing (the property is posted) and any attempt to put a "smart meter" on my home, with deadly force. Consider this your only warning."

That's GREAT!

Maybe if I posted a sign like that and I would not be sharing my sob story with the world.

The meter is the power company's property isn't it? In which case they have every right to install a smart meter regardless of what you think of it.

I have worked for PG&E and several other power companies. First thing is ... it is not your meter it is the power companies. Second thing is and it is a BIG one... you have an easement to the power company in the title of your home. Three it is unlawful for you to block access to thier property the meter.

Just so you know... By locking your gate and refusing them access to their property makes you the bad guy in court. I would not sue or press charges you will lose and pay court fees.

Re: Smart Meter...RANT!!!!!!
There has to be a way to install some type of lead shielding between the meter and the house, or a lead blanket, or something? That is just insane. I wear a Q-link, myself, which greatly reduces stress to my body from these types of things -I am also very very sensitive to it. The minute I put it on when I bought it, I let out an audible sigh and felt so relaxed and the anxiety I always had that was weird and unexplainable went away. I really do not believe it was a placebo effect, seriously. I'm not very affected by that type of thing. I am thankful that the meters to our building are like 50 feet or more from my unit (apartment). But I feel really bad for the people who have like 8 of them up against the outside of their bedroom wall. I cannot tell yet if they are smart meters or not, though.

Not if a person has health reactions to it, you dumb dipshit tyranny-loving Oztard.

A person has a RIGHT to be safe, secure, and healthy, in their OWN HOME. If you can't escape harmful effects in your OWN HOME, then where are you exected to go?

Fuck off and die, asswipe.

It's only unlawful to obstruct the view of the readings on the meter.

Thats all well and good but as a property owner do I not have the right to say if I want power to my property or not?

What if I decide to take the house solar? Their meter will not matter then...right?

It's nice to have some input from someone who works in the industry. Thank you for your insight.

I guess what pissed me off is that Texas is working on an opt out option and these guys are trespassing and ramming it down my throat.

The guy is full of shit, OP.

He shows up every time to these smart meter threads.

Same story, same bullshit.

He's just another asshole shill, who's trying to convince you that you have no rights, not even in your own home.

There's an especially hot spot in the Lake of Fire, awaiting these slimy turdballs.
