I have a family member that works for the office of medical investigations...OMI.

He is part of a national disaster team and worked in the Katrina aftermath. He got an email this morning from FEMA telling him to have his bag packed and ready as they are expecting a possible destructive category 3.

My hunch is that the Corps of Engineers has not replaced all those weak / weakened foundations around the city (the ones that were substandard to begin with).

So even a modest Hurricane might do more damage than projected as the infrastructure is compromised.
