If her key wasn't actually present in the ignition, she wouldn't be able to shift gears... which makes me wonder how she got it in drive in the first place?!
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22538971 fob key start mate. you don't even need to put them in the ignition anymore, just have them on you. brilliant, eh? [ link to www.autocarecentre.co.uk] Its all in the Fob. One of the latest technologies to come out are vehicles that no longer use 'keys' the way we think of them. Instead, they use something that looks like a car remote opening unit. These slide into a place in the car that allows the vehicle to read the information directly from the fob. Some of these key fobs don't even have to be inserted, they just have to be in the proximity of the vehicle (such as in your pocket or purse). Of course, these key fobs aren't to be confused with alarm or lock remote fobs. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22580089 I get that.. but .. never needing the key? What about all the "safety" features of key requirements? Maybe that's what they f****ed up? Or maybe she just didn't know how to drive...I just don't get it.
