Lots of interesting artifacts there!

Modern man came into being some 300-400 thousand years ago.

Lets average that out, that would be 350,000 years.

Mankind has not evolved or changed that much in the past 350 thousand years. Take an early modern man, shave him, bathe him and dress him in a suit then drop him in the middle of any major city, he would appear to be exactly like his counterparts of these modern days.

More interesting, is the fact that his brain is exactly the same size, shape with the same abilities of the average modern brain.

In known history there are at least three times when humanity nearly hit the steam age. one such is the late Period of the Roman Empire. We came so close to the steam engine (And the resulting industrial revolution) that there was just one step between bringing together a piston and steam power.

The other two times include a brief time in China (two steps from reciprocating steam engine) and in Persia, about 500 years before Rome stumbled on it (again just one step away).

In all three cases the change of local politics prevented the last step to be made.

And that was all in the past 3000 years.

That is only 1% of all of human history.

If all of humanity were to kick it today, or 99.9% of us, leaving a small breeding population, in 250 years every major tower, and tall steel structure would be collapsing - its metal frame rusted to the point of failure.

In 2,000 years nearly every example of modern human works would be buried under an average of 10 feet of new soils.

In 20,000 years such artifacts like the Great Pyramids, Mt Rushmore and other very solid things would be worn down to the point where even we would have a difficult time to tell what they were and identify them.

Plastics would have broken down into such fine dust that it would require a chemical lab to know that they existed, after you dug down about 50 feet to find them. Every city we have would have long ago been washed away, with maybe a stainless steel sink, or a glass jar surviving intact - but all buried.

All the stuff we put in orbit - gone. Even our reactors and high end nuclear technology would be lost, requiring major digging to figure out it was even there.


Go back 20 thousand years ago, imagine a world as advanced as ours suddenly collapsing socially. In less then ten thousand years there would be nothing major left except myths and legends passed down from generation to generation of the elder Gods who could fly, and who dominated the skies, and sailed the seas and knew of worlds far removed from our own.

Humanity has had all of his abilities for 350,000 years. Yes we built that, yes we created that - and most likely we have done it at least 20 times before and each time it falls and is buried with little to nothing left to speak of those lost civilizations.

There is a lot of stuff they cover up, imagine all the things we DONT get to see? And, how much do you think we even find in the first place from our ancient past history? Maybe a couple percentage at most? All the things we dont know about!
