Its funny, I have never really seen the conflict between believing in God and also believing in evolution. I mean, God created the universe, which means he created the laws under which it operates, so it would stand to reason he would use those laws to operate under. Who is to say what "7 days" means to an infinite being?

If they truly believed in their theory, they would be open to questions from non believers. But they don't, which makes them a religion not science.

Macro evolution : The addition of new DNA/RNA. NEVER been observed.

Micro evolution : The changing of a species using information already present in DNA, this has been observed.

Belittle your opponent without proving yourself, of course you cannot prove yourself because there has never been a case of additional DNA being added.
It has became muddled up (what we call a mutation) but this again has NEVER proven beneficial, always it has been a detriment.

As a note, my field of expertise is not biology, it is in fact computing - what I find amazing is the fact that human beings are the most complex computers to exist...a single cell from us is more complex than New york city...it is simply astounding.

If you showed me a computer from 1950's - a big ol' mainframe I would tell you that however simple it was compared to todays machines it did not build itself over time.

If I went to the top of a mountain and saw four stones arranged neatly together I would automatically think 'someone has been here!'

It is only logical, order does not come from chaos except when intelligence is present.

That is the only observable truth we can see in the world today.

Evolution happens a lot slower than our average scientist thinks. Many of the building blocks for the evolution of flora and fauna, like amino acids, were brought here on comets. Hence, many building blocks evolved on other planets. The human being is also not solely from this planet, but early humanoid forms did evolve here on Earth.

...that depends on what Theory of Evolution you refer to...quite a bit of Darwin's original work has pretty much been shown wrong or misguided at best...with DNA code etc., so much has shown everything on earth, plant or animal is a few to a handful of cells different.. so you end with a NOT God Theory and a God Theory...the world knows the US landed on the moon, but lots of people deny it here...so denial is popular...like most science, one answer causes 8 more questions ...usually all related to why...evolution is a how theory, never gets around to why...for example, why would a sightless cell being,with no eyes, no knowledge of sight,no "need" of sight, no brain stem..well no brain at all as we know it..develop eyes ?...and Mr Nye is mistaken,people from every nation deny evolution as a answer to the question of how we got here...just as we have 9-11 deniers who are quite vocal, and Holocaust deniers...for example,Muslims believe God created ALL living beings out of water..theres a billion of them and most not American...goofy question,not much thought...why do people question evolution would be more interesting and of course your definition of evolution so we could all know we are all talking about the same thing...

What if an "intelligent designer" was smart enough to include the ability to evolve to conditions faced by the created. Though these nuts think we evolved from monkeys, evolution could explain the similarities but not our relations to the simians.

But..seriously. I believe in evolution. However, not one human alive today knows all the answers to where the hell we all came from. So lets agree to disagree, because truthfully, we will never know exactly what happened. lol

My religion doesn't have a problem with the theory since it lists the creation of the various types of animals in the same order as the book of Genesis

birds
Mammals
Humans

In fact we often debated why dinosaurs werent mentioned...then it turns out that birds are from dinosaurs.

So evolution fits biblically the same way the "big bang theory" does

So after I get the atheist all riled up by denying evolution ,I then begin complaining about all the problems my denial has caused me.

It prevented me from getting my drivers license because I kept making a wrong turn in the jurassic era.

I struggle to balance a checkbook because I keep subtracting genetic mutations instead of adding them.

I just keep pointing out how painfully important the theory of evolution is in the daily lives of ordinary people.


Then I let him in on the joke by telling him:

1. What my faith really thinks about evolution.

2. Unless you're doing research or you're a profoundly self righteous atheist, the theory of evolution has NO PRACTICAL APPLICATION.

It is an excellent example of "Useless Trivia".

3. I'm a great deal more concerned about a 10 year old childs reading comprehension and math skills than his views on advanced scientific theories.
