Where Should The New Orleans People Go?
Texas says stay out
TTOWN SAYS DON"T GO THERE
Another person says stay out of all 50 states.

So just where should they go?
Maybe that plastic island floating around the ocean?

It's only a L1 or L2 at the worst... STAY THERE. The hurricane didn't cause any major damage the last time. It was the levee's failing.

Its all a bunch of BS talk with stereotypical negativity.

Plenty of land in the mid US with a small population count.

Very simple.

Everyone has a choice.

Sometimes its best to take the path least traveled.

Some are just lemmings.

Their choice.

Maybe they should just loot and shoot each other before a wall of water arrives ... again.

This time they've had plenty of warning, so they can escape before their $250.00 sneakers even get wet. No?

With an IQ at or about body temperature, - why does anyone live BELOW sea level, FFS? How smart is that?

I live on the Gulf coast in Florida.
I everything I own are things I could careless about because all it takes is one bad storm and I am underwater.

I plan for it. I also plan to fly out of the state if I think a serious storm is approaching.
This is the life I choose for myself right now.

Would I buy a home here ... no way
Would I live in New Orleans ... NFW ever

I don't understand why anyone would want to live in NO. Maybe they should make it a wild life preserve.

But I'm thinking the oil companies want it for what's below NO

My job can be a first responder at times(ER Nurse). With Katrina, I gave up vacation time and went under the umbrella of the Red Cross to assist. (Red Cross is also under the umbrella of the US Gov. and does require training and certification) My employer also agreed to sponser several employees, including me four several weeks.

Reading these posts, it does take me back. I am not sure, that I would give up my vacation time, if ya'll were in the same disaster. Let FEMA help you and your buds and those not tainted reading posts like these.

You can't tell some people anything, they just don't get it.
The weather on the coast is wild.
Once I lived on a island right off of Tampa Bay and the Gulf.
Well we had what they said was going to be a small storm nothing to worry about.

OMG I had to shovel the sand out of my driveway. The gulf and the bay where one.
Me and my 2 small kids and little dog in our house on stilts.
Little storm my butt I would never want to be in a hurricane.

There was a guy being interviewed on the news he lived in a trailer and said he thought his candominium was going to blow away.

North Carolina here. But ... far enough away from the coast that the hurricane season rarely affects us more than a day or so of torrential rain and storm-force winds.

Seen the damage though. Every few years, families that we know have had ocean-front/even sound-side property decimated/destroyed.

It always freaks me out when they choose to repair and rebuild - WHY? Einstein's definition of insanity???

Enjoy the ocean during the 'good' months of the year, but - you'd better respect the nature/power of the hurricane season ...

They need to find out their district number and head for their designated FEMA camp. This is the exact situation they were designed for. Have a pleasant stay and make sure to enjoy all the ammeneties. FEMA wants you to think of your disaster as a mini vacation. Leave the stress behind...Let FEMA worry for you .

I am not trying to be mean in posting this thread.
I know the Detroit comment could be on the line.

I am really concerned for these people.
Yes they live where they do and yes they made a choice to do so. But it seems one way or another our tax dollars are going to repair this mess once again.

Wow what a mess.
