Since God created time, he is before it in Order. Therefore it does not make sense to ask 'who created God' or if he can 'die' because there was no starting point to have been born or a point in time to have been created.
 Quoting: The Lamb 1694275

When did God create time? Does your book say so or did you make it up yourself?
 Quoting: Anonymous Subscriber

Time is a function of distance and thus was created with the expansion of space.
 Quoting: The Lamb 18491693

Time is a different dimension than distance or space. It is the fourth dimension with space being the three other dimensions. Oh please ... if this is really what a God lover can do best then I am really disappointed.

So I repeat .. When did God create time? Does your book say so or did you make it up yourself?
 Quoting: Anonymous Subscriber

Time is not a different dimension from space so long as there are other objects.
That is why it is called the spacetime-continuum. It is also why time is largely local.
[link to en.wikipedia.org]

Dimensions are used to define a system and functions are used to define its behavior. In order for the system to exist, these dimensions must have at least one tangential point so that they can functionally operate relativistically together. Generally, each dimension is an extension of a previous one.

There is no reason why there cannot be multiple functions of time acting on every single dimension of space locally.

If he can then he is not omnipotent because something else is more powerful than Him. This is what OP argument is.
 Quoting: Anonymous Subscriber

Yes, I understand. What I am trying to get across is that God can exist as more than one thing a time in more than one place. He can simultaneously be stronger or weaker. More to the fact, whatever he makes that is stronger than himself is just himself in a different form.

An analogy would be similar as to how objects in your dream are different forms of your 'dreamland'. You can create (object x) to be more powerful than yourself in the dream while simultaneously being stronger than (object x) in 'real life'.
 Quoting: The Lamb 21309825

Let me get this right. Are you saying that that God can only create himself in another form? Is He incapable of creating something else other than himself in another form? He is not that powerful then. And BTW is a cow actually himself in another form too? And its poo too?

You are not basing your belief on a book? If yes, which one? If not, are you making this all up yourself?
 Quoting: Anonymous Subscriber

This isn't so easy to answer. I studied the 'good book' and I would be lying if I said it didn't influence what I think. A lot of the legend behind how 'Jesus' or 'Yeshua' was found, or what is associated with them, follows in my life precisely to a degree that drove my friends mad.

A lot of the answers I get come from prayer as a sort of intuition. I don't want to get into it much because it's pretty much not believable unless I sat you down and showed you.
 Quoting: The Lamb 21309825

Did you really get the answers from prayer? Does He really speak to you? That is amazing. If true.

If you know I am going to kill and nevertheless let me materialize into this world, then you are condoning the killing. Or maybe you don't have any power to prevent me from materializing into this world so you cannot prevent the killing. In which case, you are not omnipotent
 Quoting: Anonymous Subscriber

If God were to stop you from materializing that would tend to suggest he has some sort of responsibility from making bad things happen like a super hero. Not only does that violate omnibenevolence, consider what that would do to free will! If bad didn't happen, life would be unfulfilled as our persons go undeveloped and unchallenged. Evolution would not happen if it weren't for resisting what is bad.

Freewill is a beautiful thing. You cannot create it directly. You can only create it conditionally. Would you want someone of their own freewill to love you? Or robotic-ally worship you and do only good things?
 Quoting: The Lamb 21309825

If you are able to stop me from being materialized into this world then you won't stop my freewill to kill because I will not exist. If you are not able to stop me then you are not the God omnipotent.

An agnostic Christian is that like an atheist Catholic?

You cannot be an agnostic while claiming that a religion is right or that Jesus is God.

Somehow you totally fail to understand the word agnosticism, which is kinda sad since you apparently define yourself as such.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22089462

Screw the complicated definitions, an agnostic is someone who does not confirm, nor deny, end of story dude. If you have something to say after that, then I'd like to hear it, other than that, done.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8152628

An agnostic is indeed someone who does not confirm, nor deny the existence of God but yet you spoke with certainty among others about what God is and is not, and that his SPIRIT moved upon the face of waters. You don't sound agnostic enough to me for being that optimistic about God.
 Quoting: Anonymous Subscriber

Dude, being agnostic can apply to ANYTHING, not just God, its an adjective. Agnostics on a subject do not confirm or deny anything about the given subject.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8152628

In this context we are talking about God, so the subject of the agnosticism I was referring was about God. But in your case I don't know. Are you skeptical about Christianity that you are calling yourself agnostic Christian? In which case, you sound too authoritative to be skeptical about it. Or are you skeptical about anything? In that case the word sceptist is more appropriate than agnostic Christian.

But hey, didn't you say that you did maths or even higher maths? The concept of dimension is very basic in maths or physics and yet you get it wrong.

Re: God doesn't exist, here's why. Quit wasting your time religiontards
The concept of God is quite flawed, precisely because it is a man made construct. The basic premise of God is that he is three things: omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient.

God is not omnipotent
If God is omnipotent, then he can do pretty much anything with his power. His unlimited power is what created the earth and the heavens, according to scripture. Omnipotence allows God to do anything. Which means God can create another being that can kill God. Which means that if the other being can kill God, God isn't omnipotent.

If God can't create another being that has the power to kill him, then that too means that God is not omnipotent. It isn't a question of whether or not God is willing or refusing to do this, it's a question of ability. If he can, he is not omnipotent. If he can't, he also is not omnipotent.

God is not omnipresent
According to scripture, God is present everywhere at the same time. God exists simultaneously in the past, present, and future, in all places at once. Which means God exists in the heavens and on earth. Oh, and in hell. If God is omnipresent, then God exists in pure evil at all times. God exists in lust, in hate, in jealousy, and in all negative emotions. He always existed in them and continues to exist in them forever. God is the embodiment of evil, always has been, and always will be.

God being omnipresent means that he is there, inside the mind, body, and penis of a pure evil rapist serial killer as he commits his heinous acts. But that person was under the influence of the devil, you say? Well, it just so happens that God is also inside the devil as well. But the devil overpowered God's will, you say? Well, then that means that God isn't omnipotent, since there is something more powerful than him ;)

God is not omniscient
God knows all things and nothing can be hidden from his knowledge. If you lie, he knows. If you decide to watch porn, he knows. If you are alone and you mutilate a cat, he knows. Yet we are taught to live our lives in as good of a manner as possible because that is what God wants from us. We must live according to his will. God being omniscient means that we do not live our lives with any choice whatsoever. God already knows what we have done, what we are doing, and what we will do. Therefore, how we live our lives bears no weight as to whether we will go to heaven or hell. God already has our lives laid out for us, he knows what we will do. Therefore, repenting, going to church, and doing "good things" to have him forgive our sins is irrelevant, since our paths in life are already known by God. There's no such thing as changing that path or tricking God or asking for forgiveness, as God is already one step ahead of you and knows exactly what you will do. Which means the whole concept of practicing religion is pointless, since you are not in control of your choices and destiny.

The other fun thing about God being omniscient is that it means that God has limited knowledge. God knows everything, therefore if he knows everything, he can't create any new idea or concept or piece of knowledge. If God were to create something new, then that would invalidate the claim that he was omniscient. Unless of course he knows what he is going to create in the first place, meaning that his omniscience stands and his knowledge is limited. And having limited knowledge without the ability to create new ideas and concepts means that your power is limited, therefore showing that being omniscient means you have to sacrifice being omnipotent. Which is why you can't be omnipotent and omniscient at the same time.

dance

Therefore, the three basic concepts of God are soundly proven wrong, meaning that God doesn't exist.

He is omnipresent correct? Even if he 'created' something else other than himself, he would be that thing. He is the life force that sustains reality.

Yes, actually he is a cow and its poo. If you think about god as being the particles all around you, it isn't so silly. I mean, if you dream of a cow and its poo, is that not part of you becoming the cow and the poo?

Did you really get the answers from prayer? Does He really speak to you? That is amazing. If true.
 Quoting: Anonymous Subscriber

Yes, and it scares people that know me. Well, they look flabbergasted anyways. Sometimes he gives me simple math tricks that, well, so far no one I have shown them to has seen. I'm sure someone's thought of it.

I could teach it here if people were interested.

If you are able to stop me from being materialized into this world then you won't stop my freewill to kill because I will not exist. If you are not able to stop me then you are not the God omnipotent.
 Quoting: Anonymous Subscriber

Sorry, allow me to clarify a bit better. It's not that he can't, its that he is not willing to. That is why I mentioned freewill being precious because it cannot be 'created' other than out of circumstance.

I don't HATE anything. I dislike what religion has become. God is a concept that we can't begin to describe by using that word. To me it's a curse word really. To me the word stands for Geometry Of Design. I have removed it from my language. Not because I believe or not. But because the way mind control and the illusion works is by giving concrete descriptions to abstract concepts, but still letting you personally decide what it means to YOU. So if everyone has a personal choice but are still using concepts and words that do not have anything but personal reference and such, you argue back and forth, kill for this god, steal for this one, but never actually can put in real terms what it is you actually follow. Why? Because God is bigger than everything right? Omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient right? And so many still don't think that maybe this source is different than what religions call God? Because I don't get the feeling of having to prove that the source exists, but the word God automatically makes me feel like "OK PROVE YOURS"

I don't hate religion, but I question the true motives of it as far as a system to base your life on...

Interesting, isnt it? They've always been in power and people dont really have any say whatsoever. So how hard can it truly be that they are all in on the agenda and events are orchestrated. We see evidence of this in our present day.

The other excuse they will give is that of earth changing events. Well, do people think they taught them everything in school? Planets perhaps have cycles they go through and people could guard that kind of knowledge and use it to manipulate the masses. How hard can that also be?

God does exist, but God most likely does not reveal himself/herself to sophomoric and unworthy living beings, who deny, mock and distrust God and who do not sincerely love, respect and search God.

God reveals himself/herself for example to true saints, who are worthy, sophisticated and refined enough to percept God due to God's grace.

Atheists etc. often deny, mock and distrust God and they often complain, why God is allegedly not perceptible, although they should solely make complaints about themselves.

If you would be God, would you reveal yourself to sophomoric and unworthy living beings, who just want to experience and percept you and your precious personal presence in order to satisfy their primitive craving for sensation?

Here is an absolutely unforgettable Bible quote, which fits perfectly to the topic of this thread and all atheists and mockers etc. should timely read and understand it, while they still have the infinitely precious opportunity to do it:
Bible quote:
Romans 1:20
King James Version (KJV):
"20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:"

what is so wrong with NOT using the word God? Can anybody honestly answer that question?

...

Time is a different dimension than distance or space. It is the fourth dimension with space being the three other dimensions. Oh please ... if this is really what a God lover can do best then I am really disappointed.

So I repeat .. When did God create time? Does your book say so or did you make it up yourself?

Time is not a different dimension from space so long as there are other objects.
That is why it is called the spacetime-continuum. It is also why time is largely local.
[link to en.wikipedia.org]

Dimensions are used to define a system and functions are used to define its behavior. In order for the system to exist, these dimensions must have at least one tangential point so that they can functionally operate relativistically together. Generally, each dimension is an extension of a previous one.

There is no reason why there cannot be multiple functions of time acting on every single dimension of space locally.
 Quoting: The Lamb 21309825

One dimension is NOT function of another dimension. Time is NOT function of space. But don't worry too much about it. At least now I know the reason why you think that God creates time is because of this misconception about dimension.

But hey, didn't you say that you did maths or even higher maths? The concept of dimension is very basic in maths or physics and yet you get it wrong.

What are you talking about? A dimension is a parameter of space. If there was no distance there could be no time.
 Quoting: The Lamb 21852939

I guess that sums up who you really are. How can you convince anyone that you have done maths, let alone that God exists.

So you are a Christian but you are not convinced that God made you. For me, that is not Christian, nor, agnostic. You're none of them by definition.

Christian: I believe God made me
Agnostic: Maybe

Atheist: I believe God does not exist
Agnostic: I don't know

I fixed it for you.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8152628

Then it that case you're a Christian. Don't be afraid to admit it. Agnostic takes the same approach about God, so if you say Maybe to the first one then you say the same for the second one:

Christian: I believe God made me
Agnostic: Maybe

Atheist: I believe God does not exist
Agnostic: Maybe

Ya know...God didn't have to create anything.

people that don't believe its ok!

agnostic..well u.s. protects that right too!

if creationists are wrong its our time we are using to believe!

My opinion is a creator that brought forth ALL LIFE!

GOOD OR BAD..LIFE.

just gave..gave..and gives more!

we live! we die...LIFE ONLY GOD KNOWS THE MEASURE!

There should be plenty of ways for God to show his existence other than to appear to someone. But unfortunately everything in this world can be explained without mentioning the word God (except maybe when you shout ... OMG!). The world doesn't even need God to exists.

But this is a thread that has God as title. I know that the word God itself has different meaning to anyone. God that OP refers to is someone or something or whatever it is which is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient.
