DOW radars on 16ft levees near Port Sulphur report water is 2ft from top of levees - that's a 14ft storm surge.

Can someone please tell me how this storm reintensifies? GFDL model has it at a hurricane again 120 hours out. I would say it is a mistake but other models show intensification too.

Of course. But it has been favoring a westerly motion since its first landfall. If it had continued due NW from that point of landfall, it would be over land by now. But there will be jogs and deviations, I know.

Isaac's expected track takes it north over Louisiana and Mississippi (from 2 a.m. Wed to 2 a.m. Thur) to over Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, and Mississippi (by 2 p.m. Thur) and then over Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, and Tennessee (by 2 p.m. Fri) to over Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Illinois, and Kentucky (by 2 p.m. Sat) to over Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Canada (by 2 p.m. Sun).

Then it passes on what appears to be a northeast track across Canada and goes back over the ocean in the Atlantic.

It appears that 126 hours from Aug 29 Isaac is expected to intensify back to a hurricane (with part over land and part over the Atlantic Ocean) with a speed of 75 m.p.h. and 132 hours from Aug 29th it is expected to be a hurricane of 85 m.p.h. (entirely over the Atlantic Ocean).
