Sounds like it's being blocked by high presure, lets see if it even gets turned.

Worst case.

Katrina did a loop around on itself before hitting land. Keep that in mind.

7:00 AM CDT Tue Aug 28
Location: 27.8°N 88.2°W

TS ISAAC has quite nearly stopped in place overnight.

Without the decimals on the coordinates:

27 + 88 = 115

moving NW at 7 mph

Tomorrow is 7 years (2557 days/365 weeks) to Hurricane Katrina anniversary (8/29/2005).

Today is:
8/28/12: Day 241 of Gregorian calendar. 125 days remain in 2012. 115 days to 12/21/12.
 Quoting: SE

It seems you have unlocked the magic number highly important in predicting tragic events.

Ived noticed that if you try to play 115 like you are playing guitar tabs, you get a Bb with F in the bass type chord.

Interesting triad to begin a piece of music...

We shall see

I dont know why all these comparisons to Katrina. They dont really compare well. Katrina peaked out at about as strong as a cane can get and weakened on approach due to the dry Texas air.
Isaac is a slow developer due to dry air to the south. right now it is showing unpredictability. All we know is it is slow and will dump a lot of rain.

I live in New Orleans too.

It's business as usual today. I work for Domino's pizza and we're fucking delivering pizzas today in NOLA (around Lakeview and Gentilly) until conditions degrade.

My friend works for Pop-A-Lock, They are also working all day.

on the news, they are saying "shelter in place" and "hunker down" every 5 minutes.

I was here for Katrina, this is no katrina.

not stalling its only a little over a 100 miles from coast at 7 mph about about 12 13 hrs from a hit. That is some serious intensification to get even to a cat 2

If he continues west, he will go right over the Loop Current.

[link to rammb.cira.colostate.edu]

This is the hot water that spinned up Katrina to a Cat 5.
 Quoting: DoorBert

the loop current is no more....katrina was before the oil spill and all the corexit...there is no comparison to katrina since the gulf conditions are not the same today...

there is no hurricane reported in the gulf...period.

Pititown LA, Wind speed is 22MPH...far cry from hurricane status.....it's a hurricane 'watch'....maybe, but no hurricane right now.

This storm is a FAIL. It has an eye that basically NOT an eye.
It is sucking in Dessert like dry air from a drought ravaged USA to the north just murdering it. Go home people, I went to school in New Orleans and have been thru a few of these. It's party time in the French Quarter!!!!!
