Anonymous Coward User ID: 15281326 United States 08/29/2012 10:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This will be more catostrohic than Katrina. It will begin to dominate the news and will be followed by a earthquake on un-imaginable scale. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10728385 Really? A cat 1 hurricane will be more devastating than a cat 4/5? Seriously, you have even more shit-for-brains than the average GLP idiot. If a cat 4/5 is moving quckly sure there will be a lot of more wind damage, but if you have a cat 1 that is literally not moving and just sitting there dumping a couple inches of rain per hour it's easy to see that the rainfall and flood damage will certainly be a lot higher with this storm. And like katrina wind didn't break the levy it was water... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 20586262 United States 08/29/2012 10:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Is the storm moving north, it was all southwest of NO what your saying means the storm is moving north or north east. The storm looks like it is moving north and west to me, very very slightlyly. It's hardly moving. But I can tell you the New Orleans is now getting into the WORST part of the storm now. The worst part of the eyewall is still a few miles from New Orleans but it is headed toward them. That is why it is getting so bad for Al Roker and Jim Cantori on Canal St. It will get even worse for Al and Jim as time goes on. They are in the worst part of the eyewall, the right front gaudrant. When the yellow, orange, and red go over them it will be much worse for them. It's in the yellow, orange, and red storms that the bad weather is.When you get in that real eyewall of the right front guadrant it's bad! That's all I can say, I was in the left front guadrant of Hurricane Charley. Just a 2 miles from me in the right front quadant of Hurricane Charley it was much worse than the left side I was in. The only way to describe being in a eyewall is a washing machine. That's what is going toward New Orleans right now. It's going to get worse for them than what it is now. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 20586262 United States 08/29/2012 11:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Looks to me like the eye is finally totally on land, that should help things, but not much with the type of storm this is. With the sun coming out the storms are going to get worse now in that right front quadrant of the storm. Tornado warnings out for most of the right front quadrant of the hurricane now. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20586262 Yes but the latest direction is WSW, clock wise it would be 8:50 direction. The problem with slow moving hurricanes is they can literally go any direction at anytime. They are the worst to forcast. edit: Plus the eye wall structure actually improved recently, a sign of strengthening. The eye doesn't have to be over water if more the 60% of the storms moisture is still drawn from the warmer waters. There is a name for it but I forget it. |

Consistent with what happened during the Gulf oil spill, where they basically walled off all boat access to the GOM for hundreds of miles, and they were keeping people off the beaches too. The whole freakin' GOM coast. So what do we do, wait til we guess these natural disasters have died down then buy the very cheap property? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20586262 And not with the type of "land" this is. Solid dry land does indeed weaken and dry up a hurricane. But Isaac is over swampland. Sure it looks like land on a map, but it is actually wet swamp. I Support Our First Responders |

I take a Catagory 1 seriously, I've seen too much here in Florida. People can make fun but I don't care! I'm seeing pictures of flooding in New Orleans on the Weather Channel. I'm seeing police cars driving through 2 foot water. And this storm isn't anywhere near done. National guards are rescuing people in Plaquemines Parish. People being rescued from Plaquemines Parish are saying it is worst than Katrina for them. |

I have never seen them encourage any to come back after Katrina. I am thinking, this area of flooding had an emergency evacuation order? I also heard them say they were not physically pulling folks out of there houses (don't think they ever do) |
