Re: Does GOD change HIS plans?
None of you know the real truth.

Not even me.

...Leave it at that.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1266452

No, I don't know everything. But I DO know that no man was ever born of a virgin. I know that a donkey didn't talk to some man while walking down a dusty road. I know that no big star in the sky led people to a stable. I know that no one can come back to life after being in the grave for days. I know that the sun did not stand still so some god warrior could kill more people for God.

There are some things we don't know, and then there are some things we DO know. AND if you can't prove if something is true or not, you have to suspend belief. Sorry but true.

That's my point - all this religious talk is just tearing us apart...When we're more connected than we can believe.

Re: Does GOD change HIS plans?
YES!

Many, many times, like in the story of Jonah, GOD withheld HIS judgment/disaster upon a nation when they repented and turned back to HIM.

Jeremiah also mentions this many times....that the LORD will CHANGE HIS MIND, if the people ask for forgiveness and acknowledge HIM as ALMIGHTY GOD:

"Perhaps they will listen and each will turn from his evil way. Then I will relent and not bring on them the disaster I was planning because of the evil they have done."

Jeremiah 26:3

and

"Now reform your ways and your actions and obey the LORD your God. Then the LORD will relent and not bring the disaster he has pronounced against you.'

Jeremia 26:13

************************************************************

SO, the question is, is JUDGMENT already at the doorstep of the nations ready to pour out....

is it too late?

Or can each one of us do our part in changing, not only our personal lives, but the course of history???

 Quoting: AmazingGRACE

I don't think anyone will disagree with the idea that if we change our evil ways, the world will be better.
 Quoting: Adventus Domini

Yes, why don't we start with America. We have a greater crime rate here than most any other country and we supposedly have some character named God that favors us. Go figure. Atheist countries have a much higher standard of living, less crime, more equality, etc. So if we are supposed to love each other, why are Christians so horrible, evil, angry and hateful to all those who don't think like they do? I have to wonder.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20657814

Who said God is favoring America? Not God or the Bible or true Christians. Who is angry on this thread?

I was given an interesting study on the Will of God as compared and contrasted with the Plan of God.

I know that all things work together for His purpose inevitably.

This begs the question of free will but I am more of a Calvinist the older I get and see the calling of the elect and overcomers.

Barley = Overcomers
Wheat = Church at large
Grapes = Those put under the feet of Christ

All three harvests will be brought in.

No proof of the god of the bible, yahweh, jesus etc...ergo no god. So it's all a lot of pointless mass debating ;-)
Christians assume it a given god exists so it is impossible to make any headway whatsoever.

They won't ask questions. They won't think for themselves. They live their lives in fear so they try to obey commands that that they think some invisible man in the sky has issued. He thinks that you should kill your disobedient children and he thinks a rapist should pay some silver coins to the victim's father so he can marry her. They don't follow THOSE rules but they pick and choose the rules THEY like and those are the ones they follow. They are so stupid and it is worthless to argue with braindead people. Oh come on, you can't be this stupid. You are the one who has to PROVE that a donkey can talk. The Bible says that a donkey talked. I don't believe it. Why should I BE THE ONE to prove anything. So the short answer would be yes. But i would not base that answer on a single book or you would be bound to stay stuck in its repetitive loop.

There ain´t no god. There ain´t no plans. There ain´t no change.

However, if you decided to believe your dreams, you are free to dream whatever you like. If you, instead, decide to believe someone else´s dreams... ask them, whether in their dream god changes his plans.

(If they say he does, then it means his plans weren´t very good in the first place. So, what kind of a god would that be!?)

there is no god, it's science and evolution, no one owns us, controls us or otherwise.... simply just atoms and matter, when we die we will decompose and cease to exist....

what you believe in is a man made control system, same system used before the pyramids were built just with different gods.

Yes there is.

You're just choosing science and evolution as your god.

you are right and wrong. religion has been turned into a control system and i myself am not religious. i do however believe that there was a creator that created man through dna manipulation(kind of a long story), but not the other animals. what people believe is god is just the creator of humans and the first king to rule the land. as for god(the one you are referring to) i think god is existence itself...in a way. i have a lot of theories that have tied in together seamlessly over the years. ive been obsessed with finding some truths about what we are and what this is. the last thing i want to do is misinform or disinform. if you think what i said was crazy thats fine, but hopefully it will get you to open your mind up

True God is not a person and therefore does not partake in human qualities such as changing his mind. Don't personify the creator. It's as annoying as woman who thinks her dog is a person.

The god depicted in the bible is not the true all mighty god. The god in the bible is a being, if you read, and theres nothing mystical or special about them. Because after all, there were many gods in the bible who created us in THEIR image.

I'll go along with that. I'd also add that probably from God's point of view, He doesn't actually change His mind (He's omniscient and prescient, afterall); but from OUR point of view (those of us with true freewill), He might SEEM to change it occasionally.

Yes, but I believe that the only people with true freewill are those Human beings made in God's "image" (spiritually). Although made in His "image", we are mere mortal beings in these bodies and subject to things like illness, accident, all sorts of influences (emotional, mental, physical, material, environmental, etc.). Thus we are being tried and refined like gold in a furnace, throughout every moment of our lives in the World. I believe God is intently interested on our progress, spiritual and otherwise.

Those not made in God's "image" are the Hybrids (Human x Lower Apes and/or Monkeys), the offspring of Cain. They serve Satan (and hate Human beings), because they don't have the capacity to know and serve God, or to form a sense of real morality. Obviously, without the capacity to know God, they have no 'will' to serve Him, either. Thus in my opinion, they haven't got true freewill, anymore than say, Chimpanzees do.
