Quoting: NoSilence In a competition, when someone cheats, he gets disqualified. The disqualification does not make the runner-up the winner. Rather, it reveals that the man who appeared to be the runner-up had in fact been the winner all along. In the race for the GOP nomination for President, therefore, Ron Paul won. As the New York Times wrote yesterday, Delegates from Nevada tried to nominate Mr. Paul from the floor, submitting petitions from their own state as well as Minnesota, Maine, Iowa, Oregon, Alaska and the Virgin Islands. That should have done the trick: Rules require signatures from just five states. But the party changed the rules on the spot. Henceforth, delegates must gather petitions from eight states. When Mr. Romney and the RNC cheat so blatantly, they make the game no longer about politics: they make themselves ineligible for the vote of anyone who cares about his own morality, his own honesty or his own integrity – regardless of his politics. And from a purely practical standpoint, they invite Americans to ask if they want to live in a nation governed with the same contempt for those who don’t toe the party line as has been displayed both in Tampa and throughout the primary process. But as a Ron Paul supporter, I can’t remember feeling so invigorated and empowered in my cause. Not only did my candidate win: the GOP has given the Liberty movement a greatest gift it could have given us. It has induced a righteous indignation will ensure that there will be no lull in the Liberty movement post-convention or post-election. It has educated us; it has brought us together like only a common hurt can, and it has freed us to do whatever needs to be done for the cause we love, wherever we need to do it. It's the government telling the people who they want. Ya know, I knew once RP was officially out I was going to have to decide between Johnson and Romney. Well, the Republican party throughout this whole process has made it very difficult for me to support them. Right now, unless something dramatically changes, I'm leaning pretty far towards Johnson. I mean, they didn't even have to give him the nomination. They could of just let those delegates be heard. That's what they wanted, to be treated with respect. Something the Paul supporters or Paul have not gotten throughout this whole process. The Republicans blew it. |

They have ALWAYS changed the rules on the spot. Their main job is to rally voters behind their frontrunner/winner. They are never going to give a forum to anybody seeking to split their vote. That would be contrary to their purpose in existing. Dr. Paul knows this. I'm not sure what his supporters expected but this is the way it always goes. Yes, if a person wants a forum, they should run on their own party and not expect one to be provided for them funded by others. Your support has made an incredible impact that will continue on well into the future. In fact, as I look back at the past year, I'm literally amazed at how far we've come. Today, we can catch a glimpse of our future - and it's a bright one. Due to our Liberty Movement's youth, energy, and growing numbers, establishment Republicans are recognizing their days of controlling the national GOP are coming to an end. Even now, they are being forced to recognize that our issues - like finally auditing the Federal Reserve - are not going away. My hope is, with your continued support, it will not end until free markets, sound money, constitutional principles, respect for individual liberty, and a common-sense foreign policy are all restored in America. For your generosity and all that you'll continue to do in the name of liberty, thank you. For Liberty, Ron Paul "In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot." Mark Twain |
