Nobody practices with super expensive ammo at my club. We can't afford it. Not even reloaders use high end bullets for practice. They may fire a few to test them, but that's it.

I think your government are just preparing for a situation that might come if all the occupy/conspiracy/revolutionists actually go for it and start an armed war against the government. Wouldn't you take action or prepare if a bunch of people wanted to start a war in the name of communism. Capitalism leaves the people at the bottom of the chain in a hard place, but if you work for it you do have the opportunity to climb the ladder, and if you have a brain it really isn't hard to have a succesful life and have most of the things you want, the problem at the moment is that people aren't working hard but expecting to get what some rich banker with a phd in economics and about 25 years experience in the field gets. Start changing things you can actually control, don't let other peoples actions/mistakes affect the outcome of your success.

Everyone thinks that their money is just up the street at their local bank. Everyone thinks if the banks close they can just drive from ATM to ATM and take out what they want. Most accounts only allow something like $200 a day limit, and purchases of no more than $2000 a day. Every one thinks that that "card" in their purse or wallet will get them what they need so they don't have to prepare further than a week ahead.

I would guess 90%+ of Americans have more televisions than they do water purification systems, or weapons.

Think small...if you can't fill your vehicle with gas, you can't get out of the city or the burbs. Remember, everyone else will only be able to drive between 200 and 300 miles on a tank of gas if you have no reserves, so, you and thousands of other people will all be stranded together.

The bank thing scared me enough. If at this moment you do not already 1) have your cash already, 2) converted that worthless paper to something more valuble than a useless peice of paper, and 3) started even a basic plan....then you are already doomed.

You seem to be right, did some checking - some military ordinance ages badly but handgun ammunition will outlive its owner particularly if stored properly.

The DHS has 240,000 employees. Assuming (laughably) they are all armed field agents and fire 400 practice rounds a year, that is 96,000,000 rounds. Which means 750million rounds would be used in about 8 years.

The more research I do the higher the number of rounds per officer per year I see. The number for FBI trainees is apparently 5000 per man. People mention 2000 rounds for police recerts. And that doesn't even cover that this could be a multiyear purchase agreement.

Call me crazy but that isn't as awful a purchase as I thought it was. This could well be a nominal government transaction.

And some of us have large arsenals.

But whether it's one gun or knife, a small arsenal or an armory, the one thing most of have here is the will to fight for freedom, and do whatever we have to do to maintain it. I'm ready to pay the ultimate price. Live free or die.
