What would happen if every woman quit wearing makeup?

I shouldn't have made that Ellen Degeneres Show remark, because I'm actually serious about this question. What made me think of this is I watched a segment on a show where they were making up a gay dude into a transvestite. Before they started, the guy looked completely like a guy. Nothing feminine or anything about him. After however long, the makeup people (and fashion people) transformed him into...well, into a "girl". I'm not going to say he/she was attractive, but from a distance, you'd do a double take because from a distance, he/she looked potentially attractive. It got me thinking about what makeup can do for a woman, and what we've gotten spoiled with expecting in society, with regard to what women look like when we see them out and about each day. It's not their natural look. I'm wondering how, or if, anything would be different in society if women everywhere suddenly stopped wearing makeup.

Female skin everywhere would rejoice! Women would enjoy not having pores continually clogged with crap! And tons of money would not be wasted on ridiculous products that serve no rational purpose.

Agree. Plus egos would diminish in some, which would be a good thing. Plus disharmony may decrease and harmony would likewise increase a little bit. Basically it would help a bit in our situation the world faces soon. Practice makes perfect, get used to it now. Why not?

I think so, ya. Maybe other aspects of a person would become more "valuable", meaningful. And that's not a knock on women; that's for women AND how men perceive them.

Yeah, but a lot of valuable resources would then either not be wasted for making useless makeup crap, or would be available for some other more meaninful purpose.

The 'skin care' industry would not be totally gone - even without makeup, there'd still be a market for lotion, acne cream, alpha hydroxy & glycolic acid peels, and sunscreens. Men and women of all ages still do not appreciate dry skin, acne, age spots/wrinkles or sunburn.
