Re: Rolling Stone Magazine - Greed and Debt: The True Story of Mitt Romney and Bain Capital
When Andrew Breitbart died suddenly and tragically last year -- leaving behind a loving wife and several very young children -- this was just a small part of Matt Taibbi's reaction:

"So Andrew Breitbart is dead. Here’s what I have to say to that, and I’m sure Breitbart himself would have respected this reaction: Good! F--- him. I couldn’t be happier that he’s dead."

By the way, his column that day was entitled "Death of a Douche."

Needless to say, I now have zero interest in reading the hack political babblings of such a heartless jerk.

Besides, "Rolling Stone"?? That rag is about one step below Pravda.

That wasn't a quote from Breitbart.

Breitbart did some name-calling when Kennedy passed, but he didn't do verbal somersaults delighting in his death.

I think baldy Taibbi just hates all non-liberal men with good heads of hair.

Matt Taibbi is a true journalist and patriot. I can't believe any middle class american would vote for Romney. My take on this phenomenon is that they hate Barack Obama and minorities (who they see as welfare queens)more than they love themselves. The dichotomy must be paralyzing.

The Mormons religion is a cult. Joseph Smith made up this cult in 1830 in upstate New York. He said he found gold plates and translated the markings on the plates into the Book of Mormon. They have secret meeting, secret temples, secret clothes. Oh yeah, and having little girls as your wife and multiple sister wives is what this cult and its founders believe. That is why they were push out of state after state. That is why Romney's great great grand father took his family to live in Mexico, so they could do what they wanted. His name was Parley P. Pratt.Pratt practiced plural marriage and had twelve wives, thirty children, One of Pratt's great-great-grandsons is Mitt Romney. It is a cult and nothing more, like most religions. A way for a mortal man to have power over another. I don't want any religious nut running this country, this is a republic not the Vatican.

How the GOP presidential candidate and his private equity firm staged an epic wealth grab, destroyed jobs – and stuck others with the bill

Even more disturbing to learn:

Bain and the Salvadoran Death Squads: Romney’s Blood Money

Over a third of the $37 million raised by Romney to launch Bain Capital in the mid-1980s came from rich Latin Americans, the bulk of it from Salvadoran families linked to death squads.

An off-shore tax haven in Panama provided Bain with the secrecy needed to attract the approximately $6.5 million from the Salvadoran families in what many human rights experts would call “blood money.”

The great criticism of Mitt Romney, from both sides of the aisle, has always been that he doesn't stand for anything. He's a flip-flopper, they say, a lightweight, a cardboard opportunist who'll say anything to get elected.

The critics couldn't be more wrong. Mitt Romney is no tissue-paper man. He's closer to being a revolutionary, a backward-world version of Che or Trotsky, with tweezed nostrils instead of a beard, a half-Windsor instead of a leather jerkin. His legendary flip-flops aren't the lies of a bumbling opportunist – they're the confident prevarications of a man untroubled by misleading the nonbeliever in pursuit of a single, all-consuming goal. Romney has a vision, and he's trying for something big: We've just been too slow to sort out what it is, just as we've been slow to grasp the roots of the radical economic changes that have swept the country in the last generation.

The incredible untold story of the 2012 election so far is that Romney's run has been a shimmering pearl of perfect political hypocrisy, which he's somehow managed to keep hidden, even with thousands of cameras following his every move. And the drama of this rhetorical high-wire act was ratcheted up even further when Romney chose his running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin – like himself, a self-righteously anal, thin-lipped, Whitest Kids U Know penny pincher who'd be honored to tell Oliver Twist there's no more soup left. By selecting Ryan, Romney, the hard-charging, chameleonic champion of a disgraced-yet-defiant Wall Street, officially succeeded in moving the battle lines in the 2012 presidential race.

The subject is Taibbi and what he wrote about Romney.

A journalist's character influences his judgement and perspective.

In Taibbi's case, he's not really a "journalist." He's a hack, progressively-biased hatchet-piece writer. His presentations aren't the least bit balanced. To Taibbi, everything pro-progressive is wonderful and beyond reproach. Everything non-progressive is evil.

He's a one-trick pony. Therefore, he's not even worth reading.

But then, it doesn't really matter. Rolling Stone's small readership will have no effect on this election. As I said in a previous reply, RS readers aren't voting for Romney anyway.

I think it's a fair article for what is clearly a political op. Not a lot of revelation - but an honest analisis of Romney's and Ryan's game.

Most of us will find it hard to dispute much of this - which explains the comments from the political junkies.

Fantastic article!

WAKE UP AMERICA! JESUS CHRIST ALREADY!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 13778508

Romney is a monster.

The way his ethics are are just wrong. He takes pleasure in "firing people" so that rich motherfuckers can make a little bit more profit.

That is GREED. When people put the profits of the 1% over the wellbeing of hardworking people who have fallen victim to a false economic collapse.

This collapse was engineered on purpose, and the goal is to take away everything from us, and take all of our rights too. They are trying to destroy America so that the UN world government can rise from our ashes.

Our President's first duty should be to the Constitution and the well-being of his people... not international banks.

God wake the fuck up already.

I watch the bickering going on as an outside observer, however I don't think I've seen either side in American politics get so butt hurt by a post. Must have been close to the truth with such a full complement of shills out.

The thing that none have taken from this is the toxicity of the whole system, and how many of the sufferers of that toxic system are willing to accept the debilitation as long as it is their version of toxic. Strange.

He is a fucking tool, loser and 911 apologist. I will try to post the exchange he had with David Ray Griffin about 911. DRG absolutely schooled him in every way possible.
