Yeah doll I just talked to him a few minutes ago... everything they could move is now upstairs & the downstairs is a total loss. His house sits up pretty high, but outside it's almost waist-deep in places already... they're hauling-ass now & will move to another part of the State once this is over.

I wish they would make up there minds, so far it's failed, Partialy breached and no Problem at all, which is it?

Officials expressed concern about explosions at the sinkhole area, before Isaac developed.

How close is this area to the sinkhole?

I thought as much.

Its partially breached, but they think it is going to burst.
So Jindal has made decision to breach it some more to relieve pressure.

If they deliberately breach it, there will be a 4 foot wall of water flowing into a mainly forested area.... if the dam fails on its own it is the 17 foot rise they are trying to avoid.

The threatened dam is well north and west of it, the parish that they want to blow a levee is south and west of it also by quite a bit, I do not think either incident will have any affect on the sink hole.

Ugh. We have so many houses here that that happened to- have to gut the whole downstairs because of the water (those that were lucky enough not to be all the way underwater). People here started suing the corps of engineers because they let the floodgates open on the Cumberland and it flooded half of Nashville. Hope he doesn't have a mortgage- I'd try to sell the house immediately. He'll have tons of competition quick if he's in a neighborhood.

Isaac: Mayor says 50/50 dam will fail

(RNN) - Residents along the Tangipahoa River in Mississippi and Louisiana were given 90 minutes to evacuate after warnings of severe flooding from a possible levee break at Lake Tangipahoa.
According to WWL, officials ordered the mandatory evacuation at 10:10 a.m. CT for up to 60,000 people along the river from Kentwood through Robert, LA. McComb, MS, Mayor Whitney Rawlings said there was a 50/50 chance the dam would fail.

Pike County emergency management declared the dam at Lake Tangipahoa, better known as Percy Quin State Park, damaged but "intact," according to the agency's Facebook page. EMA officials are monitoring the situation, they stated.

WAFB reported the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for parts of Pike County in southern Mississippi after emergency management officials determined the dam would probably fail.The flooding expected to cause the breach came from Tropical Storm Isaac.

Officials in Tangipahoa had initially warned a breach could be imminent, according to CNN. A National Guard helicopter has been maintaining position over the dam.

Evacuations have been ongoing, and Gov. Bobby Jindal agreed to send buses to help move people out of the areas of potential hazard...

Flood warning for the Tangipahoa River at Osyka. The dam at Lake Tangipahoa, better known as Percy Quin State Park, has been damaged by the torrential rains from Hurricane Isaac, but is intact, and is not leaking. We are monitoring it.
All residents below the dam that live along the Tangipahoa River are being notified of the damage.

These two hurricanes should help the UN agenda of moving everyone out of that zone. Seems really amazing that the UN wants everyone on the coast near Louisiana and MS to move out and i think we pledged a billion dollars if i recall to the relocation plan...and now these hurricanes are forcing everyone out, and many will move away im sure being tired of it.

Oh he's history... he moved there for the proximity to water (bigtime boater) but he's not one that'll 'rebuild' and *hope* that it doesn't happen again... he's going to (relatively) high ground immediately no matter what it takes.

Updated 11:47 a.m. ET] Tangipahoa Parish President Gordon Burgess says Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is sending buses to assist with evacuation efforts after an apparent levee failure near Lake Tangipahoa, CNN affiliate WWL reports.

Asked where the evacuees would be transported, Burgess told WWL, “We don’t know yet. I just got to get them out away from the river.”

Burgess says residents - between 50,000 and 60,000 of them - have a little less than an hour to clear out. The evacuation order is aimed at residents along the Tangipahoa River, from Kentwood to Robert, Louisiana.

WELL it trickles up to the GOVERNMENT if the MSM does/does not cover something it is cause they have their marching orders! Is it me or is this type of crap along with what went down with Ron Paul delegates make you think we are closer to living in North Korea type country????

What about the hurricaines that keep hitting the same places in Florida (Keys, WPB) etc, East coast, Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, Tx- Galveston. Do we do a damage amount and once that is reached, say all have to relocate someplace else or pick up your own tab? It is an idea.


Where I live, I will not get hit by a tornado, earthquake, flood, hurricane, no natural disaster that will take anyone elses tax dollars to fix.
