BREAKING: Dam Failure Imminent due to Isaac Flooding

Mississippi officials are planning a controlled breach of a dam on the Tangipahoa River in Pike County inundated by Isaac to prevent massive flooding from Kentwood to Robert, Gov. Bobby Jindal said Thursday. The dam is in imminent danger of failing, which could send 17 feet of water to Kentwood within 90 minutes, Jindal said.

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR... SOUTHWESTERN PIKE COUNTY IN SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI...

* UNTIL 1115 AM CDT

* AT 810 AM CDT... LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED THE LAKE TANGIPAHOA DAM IS EXPECTED TO FAIL. SEVERE FLOODING IS EXPECTED DOWNSTREAM ALONG THE TANGIPAHOA RIVER FROM WEST OF THE MCCOMB AIRPORT AND MAGNOLIA TO OSYKA. WATER LEVEL RISES ARE EXPECTED TO BE NEAR 8 FEET BELOW THE DAM TO 6 FEET AT OSYKA. CURRENT RIVER STAGE READING AT OSYKA WAS 14.8 FEET.

THIS IS A FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR ALL LOW LYING AREAS ALONG THE TANGIPAHOA RIVER INCLUDING OSYKA.

Yea my local news station talked to him a bit before the storm made land fall. Kind of a weird dude. I watched his cast a few times until he went payper veiw which I guess was when he entered the eye of the storm. He was charging 4.99 to watch. I mean really. What dumb ass is going to pay five dollars to watch a fat dude play in the rain.
