I'm seeing lots of videos of houses under water on the Weather Channel, people are saying it's worse than Katrina.

Maybe the 50's that's pouring thru the damn represent how much money will be flooded into the economy once the financial damn breaks?

Wonder how many guns they confiscated and what fema camps these people are in?Ever think about that?

For some reason when I read your comment, the first thought that came to me was "is this a gov't op stirrin the pot to distract us from this topic?".

For the last few pages it seems that there has been a concerted effort to derail this thread.

The Guard saved a lot of lives during this storm. So did deputies from other parishes and individuals (neighbors) who risked their lives to help one another.

People from LA, MI, and AL are special people when it comes to takin care of each other.

But storm is expected to become a tropical depression by tonight with winds of below 39 mph
Isaac continues to lumber north and is expected to move across Arkansas and into Missouri on Friday

He said the horse trailer went completely underwater with the horses still in it.. news worthy, but not 5k for sure.

Yeah I know, is that to empty what flooded in or to let more in, really sad whats happened over there.

So it looks to me like the improvements since Katrina were designed to save downtown NO at the expense of the communities around it. Probably wrong, but on the surface, based on what I have been able to glean so far from the disjointed news coverage, it appears that way.

Mary Landrieu was sharin yesterday on WWL New Orleans, how she had been trying to get funds for Plaquemines - Grand Isle and how no one was listening to her.

I also shared with my partner - we recently moved from NOLA - how the improvements for NOLA held up well, seemingly at the expense of the rest of LA. Or, because NOLA's improvements held up so well - we are seeing where work needs to be done in the rest of LA.

Ironically, I heard that the water around the damn in Tangipahoa was to be drained on Monday (Labor Day) to work on the damn - WWLTV broadcast earlier today. (I did not record this - so no link).

I don't want to seem morbid... but...

There seems to be a 'COVER UP' of how many people have died.

I'm seeing with my own eyes... houses and towns completely (and partially) underwater.

Alot of people STUPIDLY did not evacuate these areas.

I find it hard to believe there is not a large death toll.

Especially when you include all the downed trees and powerlines as well.

There seems to be a media blackout of these facts.

Same thing happened with Katrina. Bodies floating and the majority of the world didn't know and didn't care.
