Re: V
Bottom line is that if it serves anybody, it serves them, TPTB, not us. What would serve us more than anything is for each house to serve itself and be as independent from the grid as possible. (A fraction of what they spend on nuclear plants could put solar panels on the roof of every home.) But they don't want that and will do everything in their power to keep electricity centralized, and now with it centralized you see how they want to fondle your nut sack.

Re: V
Wrap the outside of your smart meter with tin foil. This will contain the RF (radio frequency) energy that is radiated from the meter.

Don't believe it will work?

wrap a ice cube in tin foil and put it in the microwave. If the ice is completely wrapped the ice cube won't melt. The tin foil shields it.

More on smart meters in this Thread: SMART METER Issues... # Ongoing Articles & Videos (Page 4)

The arguments they use in The Netherlands to force those things upon us are so lame that nobody with more than one brain cell is interested in installing a smart meter, unless they have no choice.

The energy companies lobbied big time and certain political parties supported a bill they wanted to sneak through parliament which was prevented after the media got hold of it.

I don't understand what's so bad about these. They can potentially be good for the environment.
 Quoting: krosty

Are you serious? Here in Australia, smartmeters have burned houses down. That's not good for both the environment or human life. How would you feel if your house burned down, with your children, loved ones and pets inside, all because you had a smartmeter installed? A lot of things are marketed as "potentially good for the environment" that aren't potentially good for the environment at all. Just like how people were told that cigarettes were good for your health, 70 years later we now know that they are bad for your health.

Also here in Australia, these smartmeters have "peak" and "off peak" times for electricity. If you wanted to vacuum your house or use your washing machine, then your going to have to do it during the "off peak" time (which is around 2am) because using electrical appliances during the "peak" time (which is for the majority of the day) are incredibly expensive to use. Using electricity during the "off peak" times is very cheap but unfortunately for me, because I am not a bum and have a job, I can't be awake at 2am vacuuming my house and washing my clothes.

I seriously think that people should be fighting these smartmeters. Here in Australia we are having smartmeters installed without our permission so people are taking steps to make sure a smartmeter isn't installed in their home. People are putting locks on their electricity boxes and even have been cutting out a little window around the meter so electricity companies can still read the meter.

Simple. NO Smart meters in the house. Just another fucking snoop device they dupe people into accepting freely. I don't need nobody telling me about my energy consumption. I have been monitoring it my whole life. Bill gets high, moderation sets in. Simple. How hard is it? Do you really need another snoop device in your life?

So, I got a phone call saying I was going to get an upgrade on my meter and they guy was going around. I said I didn't want a smart meter......later after other shit happened.....I call and am told I have had one since 2009 and they are rarely used to control the electricity......I said I just moved here and I don't want it.....Ok, you are off of the program.

The guy comes out to put the new meter in and I meet him at the meter and say, I don't want a smart meter and he says ok, I'll just take this one off and your air conditioner will still work. OK

2 days, 2 calls, 2 power trucks arrive, nobody knows what I am talking about. They don't have any paper trail on the switch change. And they don't know what the box was doing on the house in the first place.

The first power guy said, we have a great grid there is no need for this.

It's over, I have learned enough, the box is gone and I am going to call the air conditioning guy to fix my air conditioner connection.

I found some weird articles while doing this.

Best way (which I did with Florida Power & Light) to refuse the smart(ass) meter - and get an apologetic call from their administration - is to tell the installer "I refuse because a family member has a Pacemaker and, because of that, we don't even have a microwave oven".

I walked out the door before this was pinned.

I think this is going to work, it doesn't look mandatory because the next door neighbor doesn't have one.

And they took it off.......if it was never to be taken off, the employee made a mistake. Done deal!

Thanks for the pin.

At the very least, it screws-up both the transmitting and receiving pulse EM-RF signals if it doesn't stop them completely. My FP&L meter-reader for the past 5 years (who will soon be out of a job) told me this. I told my neighbor and he said it worked well enough last month that they had to send out a person to read his smart-ass meter. They installed his smart-ass meter when he wasn't home two months ago and refuse to replace it with an analog meter.
