WindyMind (OP) User ID: 7244814 United States 08/30/2012 02:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think I had a good deal, and if I had kept my mouth shut and just gotten the air hooked up then nobody would have known. Now someone has a clue and called me and I said leave it alone I have hired someone to hook it up. Shit, I had kind of a good deal goin there. I probably have to fight again. |

They can potentially be good for the environment. Quoting: krosty Many health problems, including cancer and heart attacks have been attributed to smart meters. Also, they will work with the new smart appliances to spy on you. Will try to add more info later. I'm expecting a phone call at any moment. |

Quoting: WindyMind Do you have a smart meter? What do you think? Research smart meters setting homes on fire. [link to www.environmentalleader.com] Smart meter installations are being put on hold in Pennsylvania after several devices overheated and caught on fire, which has prompted regulators in Pennsylvania and Maryland to investigate the devices’ safety, according to news reports. Meanwhile, in California, several cities have filed petitions to allow customers to opt out of the wireless devices. I called pge and said I have s nephew with a coclear ear implant who stays with us on occasion and I needed the smart meter removed. They said, is it already installed? I said,.yes. they said sorry once they are on we cannot take them off. I git into a 15 min argument saying this could fry his ear implant and got nowhere. Told too bad. I am in northern Ca If you woke up breathing, you have another chance! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 21708684 United States 08/30/2012 03:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm in C.A. Let me just say... I mean, wow... As soon as the utility guy removed it, it was like night and day in my home. IMMEDIATELY the difference was noticeable. I felt like a sickening weight was lifted off my back. Me and the house cat were sitting across from each other, giving each other this look like "whoa, you feel that?" Shoot, even the cat had a different look in his eyes!! Oh, and my A.M. radio band works now. From one person to another: REMOVE THESE EVIL THINGS FROM YOUR HOUSE ASAP! If you care for your health and well-being. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 13818684 United States 08/30/2012 03:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Put a lock on your fence NOW, if you have one. If you don't, then get offline and go buy one NOW. My hubby OKed one to be installed. He is one uninformed AH. I noticed not long after agreeing to one that I am having all kinds of physical problems now- I wasn't even aware that he OKed it until I had all these symptoms. Some health risks:Concentration and memory problems, dizziness, tinnitus, heart palpitations, headaches, sleep disruptions, nausea, anxiety and behavioral problems in children. I can say that I have all of those symptoms. You should check out the symtoms of EMF. The utility company will try to use threatening behavior and will trespass on your property to do it. We are going to have to move out of this house (which is a rental) to escape this. I can't stand anymore. Not only that but it is not UL approved. It does pose a fire risk. Have you tallied the risk of all of your property yet? What about pets? What about the value of your family members if you can't get everyone out? |

I came home from to find two guys removing the old one and placing the smart reader. I can honestly say, whether it is a coincedance or not, I get ringing in my ears now as well as headaches. I never had either issue before. I worry about what it will do to my children. I was told by the power company that they are staying. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 13818684 United States 08/30/2012 04:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Does it look new? That's a tell tale sign. Now the electric company is bombarding us with some sort of be a part of helping them BS in lowering our bills by opting to have our usage completely analysed and enjoy brown outs to lower our bills. They won't leave us alone. Our smart meter will know what we run, when we run it. It will know when we are home and do laundry, get on the internet, run a fan, etc. EMF feels like having baby oil on your skin at all times and having bugs crawling on it, besides the other symptoms. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 22722516 United States 08/30/2012 04:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | How can you tell if it's a smart meter or not? Quoting: Michael 22892356 We had a new meter installed a couple years ago that looks like it has digital numbers on the front. It does not say smart meter... How can I know? An analog meter has a set of rotating platters which are visible through the glass case. Also, smart meters usually have IR input windows on the front of the casing. One of the biggest problems with these smart meters are sampling errors. Because they sample in digital increments a noisy line can throw off the meter and really hike your bill. Be aware of this if you have above-ground power lines and call your electric company if you notice any branches getting near the lines. The brushing of tree-branches against the lines can generate enough noise to cause sampling errors. |

Also, a/c controllers are different from asd meters, there's nothing smart about them. Get your terms straight. Warning: JustSomeGuy_42 is a publicly confessed unvaxxed neophiliac . Morpheus User ID: 729560 Canada 08/30/2012 04:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wrap the outside of your smart meter with tin foil. This will contain the RF (radio frequency) energy that is radiated from the meter. Don't believe it will work? wrap a ice cube in tin foil and put it in the microwave. If the ice is completely wrapped the ice cube won't melt. The tin foil shields it. |
