ESSEX, VA (WWBT) -
An Essex County couple comes home to find their livestock mauled to death.

Two dogs are suspected of getting onto Upright Alpaca Farm and killing nearly a dozen alpacas.

In all, 15 alpacas were attacked, 11 were mauled to death, two are hospitalized and two are recovering at home.

When Abbey Gauvin left home Saturday afternoon all 15 of her alpacas were healthy and happy.

But when she returned home Sunday morning she encountered a gruesome sight.

There are bad dogs of every breed. These dogs need to go, just like any other dog of any breed that attacks for no reason.

Notice how in every single picture, the primary injury was to the face ? If it were simply food predation, a predator typically goes for the neck. Inflicting facial injuries of this nature is nothing but aggression.

they are banned in my city. And they are gathering them up,locking them in pounds. And throwing away the key. It's just as well. Golden retrievers might have bitten more people. but there is way more retrievers then pit bulls. And yet which breed do you hear kills and maimes more? Not the retrievers.

This happened to a herd of my families sheep once. I think we lost about 30. tissue

It's not just pits. When dogs run wild and in packs, they turn a little wild and take and kill lots of farm animals.

This is why many farmers have guns. hayseedcowmacgun

This is ridiculous. I have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier who is as gentle as a lamb. She loves everyone, and sleeps with and grooms our cat. It is not the breed, it is the deed and the irresponsible owners who are the problem.
Over the years, we have personally experienced several dog attacks. Years ago, a Chow/Collie mix almost killed our Chesapeake Bay Retriever, and a Great Dane/Boxer mix seriously injured my Staffordshire Bull Terrier 4 years ago. The Chow/Collie mix, who had a history of killing other pets and attacking people, was put down. The Great Dane/Boxer mix was quarantined, and the owner was fined.

Yes because they're illegal in the province of ontario. And the cities have to enforce the law. If tea cup poodles were banned from the Province. Then there would be more of them in the pounds. Then any other dog.
