Re: Once again VICTORY for the PEOPLE! The Melissa Bachman Case.
If hunting for sport is so awful, vegs. need to think about the entire ecosystems they are destroying for grain. As a matter of fact most trophy hunting is only available because it is a by-product of growing your grain.
See the animals eat the crops we plant for your consumption, every farmer plans on at least 10% loss due to wildlife. The animals no longer have to go forage, and they multiply. In the meantime large robust ecosystems are demolished to be planted in grain and field crops, nature trying to repair herself (yes feminine) creates a small ecosystem inside this synthetic enviroment. Then we roll through the field w/ combines and harvesters destroying that synthetic ecosystem as well.
Any vegetarian not growing there own grain is responsible for more death in a year (pound for pound) than someone taking a deer for meat.
I shoot a deer I am responsible for the soul of one animal. you eat a loaf of bread, you are responsible for the souls of 1000's of mice, rabbits, and ground nesting birds. Maybe that is why your so caught up on stopping hunting, in the back of your mind you know the destruction of all those animals and ecosystems is your fault, and you are so removed from the process that you can't forgive yourself so you project your shame (and you should be ashamed) and your guilt (and you are guilty) onto others.

Re: Once again VICTORY for the PEOPLE! The Melissa Bachman Case.
It all started when In National Geographic chose to film a TV series with Melissa Bachman, a woman who makes TV entertainment from killing animals for fun.

 Quoting: ~THE IRANIAN~

You must be a vegetarian?

Methinks you are offended by the hunter being
a woman?

Those who eat meat appreciate seeing a woman
hunt since the time can come, has come, when
the deer in the freezer has made a huge difference
in the monthly budget. The meat is also better
than most you can find that is farm-raised.

As a woman, I do not prefer to hunt, but know
how to. I appreciate the hunters in my family
who bring home the meat we eat and serve others.
I am also glad, as a woman, that a man took the
time to show me how a deer is killed and gutted.

A hunter knows that if you chase a deer you have
shot, they will run for miles. If you just leave
them alone, then follow the blood trail, they will
be found close by. While this seems cruel, it is
not as cruel as the method of killing used in
meat processing farms---that of shocking the
animal and/or bludgeoning it to death.

How about complaining about the government shooting
animals from helicopters to thin herds. That meat
is not even used. Better to sell licenses to kill,
or use lotteries to thin herds. Then the public
can use the meat. Herd and animal management is an
important issue, but not one that dictates that
killing animals should be stopped, but to see if
the balance of animals and humans is being met.
Its a plus if the animal is also used for meat
or other goods.

Unless you are a strict vegan, your stance on this
issue is hypocritical. It is NOT a taboo for a hunter
to honor an age old tradition of providing food. I
liked watching Michelle, and I also love watching
"Swamp People", where men and women shoot hundreds of
alligators that are used for food, shoes, and purses,
oh my :p

[link to www.history.com]

"Hogs Gone Wild" is a good example, also, about
feral animals encroaching and how HUNTERS are on
the front line of helping manage and thin the
herds.

Deer tend to overpopulate in this area as well. In addition to posing a traffic hazard, they become disease prone from such massive numbers.

I'd have to say this might be victory for the deer but fail to see how it's any kind of victory for the people. Deer have been known to come through a car windshield and actually kill people before.

 Quoting: Bluebird

I do not know about the deer population in Turkey,
but the deer population where I live is very healthy.
We see them daily, and yeah, one of the considerations
of driving at night IS the potential for colliding
with a deer. I almost had heart failure watching a
deer sail over a motorcyclist who was driving right
in front of me. The guy laid down his bike and
survived but probably learned it is dangerous to
drive at dusk or dark.

I was driving in town last year and a deer ran
in between cars and smashed into the side of
my vehicle, denting it. It could have been much
worse though. Now, we have to watch for wild
hogs too. Its common to see them hit on the
road.

Re: Once again VICTORY for the PEOPLE! The Melissa Bachman Case.
It all started when In National Geographic chose to film a TV series with Melissa Bachman, a woman who makes TV entertainment from killing animals for fun.

"Bachman has pink hunting equipment, pig tails and whole a lot of make up, and this sends other trophy hunters/thrill killers wild. It is shocking news that National Geographic have chosen to cash in on this as well. If you go to youtube or google "Melissa Bachman hunting" you can see just how much pain and suffering she causes animals. On her website she talks about following wounded animals for miles that she has previouslly shot. If an animal can walk for miles after been shot and then dies, the agony and suffering it must be going through is unthinkable."

So a bunch of people rose up and demanded NAT GEO to shutdown this disgraceful show and try at least to stop this bitch from doing more cruelty towards the animals.

WE GOT A RESPONSE :

"The National Geographic Channel has carefully considered the public discussion of our series on surviving the wilds of Alaska currently in production and premiering sometime next year. Upon further reflection we plan to eliminate one of the survivalists from the ensemble cast, Melissa Bachman. Hunting is not the focus of the show, and we regret the misinformation that has clouded what we hope will be an exciting adventure series set in the incredible Alaskan landscape."

VICTORY!
 Quoting: ~THE IRANIAN~

Great news OP. Big time victory!!! The producer who condoned this foolish woman's actions should be fired immediately as well. Great post.

A few days without food and you will be hunting a deer.
Or a rat. Or anything.
Animal rights and eco tards are totally out of touch with reality, the reality is that this world does its best to kill people.
But there is a solution, mainly drop some brainless tard into the Amazon rain forest and let them walk out.
They will be covered with parasites, bite marks, you name it,
and oh, they will be dead

I agree that this should not be on tv. She makes real hunters that respect animals look bad. We should show some respect to the animal that is making the ultimate sacrifice so we can eat. I am glad she was pulled from the show but I don't think that will stop her from inhumanely killing more animals. That is a real shame.

I really can't believe that people whine about stuff like this. Where I'm from in Kentucky, there are so many deer/elk they walk around town getting into anything they can. You're more likely to get into a car accident with a deer than another car.

Good God man. People like you make me fucking embarrassed to be human. Professional hunters - that are actually good at what they do - take down animals immediately in one shot. No suffering, no cruelty. That doesn't necessarily make hunting for sport palatable to some, but it helps. This bitch shoots to wound, and walks around feeling proud of herself. Nobody is talking about wasted meat here. You completely miss the entire point - no surprise there.

It's interesting how people are easily swayed and influenced by "framed" arguments.

We have enough problems as it is that this "victory for the people" is laughable at best.

Personally, before you go about taking some moral high ground with animals, why don't you take an equal moral high ground with humans?

Like, why are you using things that are toxic to the environment? Why do you use tech that uses materials that may have been obtained through slave labor? Blood metals? Etc?

Use of any plastics?

Hypocrits, all of us who try to claim some moral high ground without treating ourselves with that same level of integrity and thought.

You know what, if you're so into not hunting animals for sport, how about just culling the majority of the human population to stop polluting the environment with feces, urine, and garbage that you produce. Quite the NWO agenda...

Hell yes we do !!!

When I harvest game, I only take a shot that will put down the animal either where they stand or they only run for a few yards.

I taught my son the same.

We can both say that over the combined 40+ years of hunting, we never wounded an animal. One shot, one kill !!!

We (being my son and I) respect the animals and never hunt for trophies ... we eat everything we harvest.

If that makes us bad people, so be it !!!

It helps control overpopulation, and protects the ecosystem of which these animals are apart. I think it just bugs me that Nat Geo was irresponsible enough to air a show that goes against that philosophy. Of all channels, Nat Geo should know better. Shooting to wound, and celebrating it, has no place in sport hunting - at least that is the opinion of the hunters that I know.

The world is like a ride at an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think that it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly coloured, and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question - is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us. They say 'Hey! Don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride.' And we...kill those people. Ha ha ha. 'Shut him up! We have a lot invested in this ride. SHUT HIM UP! -Bill Hicks

-Bill Hicks
