Long range strategic missile Agni-IV test-fired

India on Wednesday test-fired its nuclear-capable strategic missile Agni-IV with a strike range of about 4000 km from a test range off Odisha coast.

It was test launched with the help of a mobile launcher from launch complex-4 of ITR at Wheeler Island, about 100 km from Balasore, at about 1145 hours, defence sources said.

Arrow 3 Test Postponed due to Unknown Problem

The next trial of the Arrow 3, Israel's main future anti-missile defense weapons system, has been postponed for an unexplained reason, according to a report in the US weekly Space News quoted by Globes.

Development of the Arrow 3 missile is already one year behind schedule. According to the "Space News' report, the flight trial that had been planned for this month has now been postponed until the end of the year.

Arrow 3 technical staff declined to specify the reason for the delay but it is reportedly "believed to be serious" because the missile has been returned from its launcher to an installation belonging to Israel Aerospace Industries, for repairs.

Live Artillery Fire in Golan as IDF Drill Draws to an End

As the Rosh HaShana holiday ended, Brig. Gen. Riftin began calling up fire monitors to the drill, followed by the combat soldiers and various units. Most of the IDF's Northern Command was also reportedly in the dark regarding the drill until the last moment, when its soldiers began being called up to the Golan Heights.

The drill reached its climax in the afternoon hours as artillery batteries began directing live fire at targets in the Golan Heights.

"The drill is one that is routine, and part of a program of tests and surprise military exercises held throughout the year,” the IDF Spokesperson's Unit explained. "This exercise is being conducted under the command of chief artillery officer Brig.-Gen. Ro'i Riptin.”

This thread is becomeing more and more dreadful. Our world is a mad mess...I can honestly say that this is the first time I have been sincerly scared. I'm afraid this is going to get completly out of hand and I hate that my children are going to have to witness it. It began emotionally hurting them today when they had to hug their Dad goodbye for a few months.

I hate that he had to go, but what I hate even more is living life in fear. The thought of protests and maddness or suicide bombings happening in the U.S. sickens me. Yeah, its extremely hard emotionally and physcially being a "single" parent with four children, one of them special needs, but I will happily do it if it means keeping the radical fuckers in there place!

I'm sorry, it's been an emotional afternoon for me. And I'm having a difficult time digesting all of the shit going on everywhere. There is too much going on, how is it possible that any government it able to seriously deal with all of the issues?

Novamom, I know what you're going through. When Desert Storm kicked off, we were in Europe with 3 small children. My youngest was barely 1 year old. We didn't live in base housing, we lived in a town about 45 minutes away. My husband was being told to pack and unpack so many times, I couldn't take it anymore either. I didn't know what I was going to do. They shut down the Dodds school for a few days and when they re-opened it, they had 1 Sp with an M-16 (wait for it you guys) NO AMMUNTION!! For several days, I just couldn't get a grip. I can't believe a person could cry so many tears. Our chapel had a prayer service the next night and we went. I was embarrassed, because I'd been crying for so long, but it was the best thing I could have done. We all prayed for each other, our troops, our country. We were stronger for joining together, I was still afraid, but the tears stopped. I knew I wasn't alone, I SAW that I wasn't alone.

Know this for truth, you are not alone. We've been through it, we can help keep you sane. If the information gets to be too much, get off of here for awhile. If you're near a base, connect with the other wives. DON'T try to handle it alone. If you need, I will PM you my e-mail. You have to hang on, for your kids and for yourself. Your husband needs to know you will be ok while he's gone. I'm not much of a computer person, but if it really does HTF, maybe we need to start a thread for the wives.

We all know what's coming. It is scary to watch it all fall apart. It's even more difficult when you have loved ones that are or could be in harms way. I know I personally have been doing a lot of praying lately.

I have faith that you will handle the difficulties at home the same way your husband will handle the difficulties he encounters abroad; with courage, strength and faith.

Remember you are not alone (even though some times it feels like it). We stick together, we look out for each other, that is how it always has been and how it always will be.
