You heard it yesterday on MILMAN's thread but now it's hit the MSM...

Libyan forces surround pro-Gaddafi town (Bani Walid)

Libyan forces deploy around former Gaddafi stronghold [link to www.chicagotribune.com]
(but actually the mobilization happened Tuesday morning)

New Libyan government does not include any members of moderate coalition...(AbuShugar's cabinet does not include anyone from Jibril's coalition)

Lets just say that though it seems bad, it could get much worse. I do agree that what has come in today is not claiming to say the least. Just now trying to digest what all is going on in various areas of the Middleeast as well as Korea and China.

Without saying too much there is prepping for after the fact in areas verses prepping for the event as the event is basically already expected. Pretty vague but . . .

Other areas would indicate troop build ups from areas in and around Syria. Again vague.

Steve, it may get real and Irene very fast.

What we know is, Turkey is extremely close to war with Syria and dragging in NATO too.

Russia has planes flown into Syria either for troops or evacuating its people, either way bad.

Iran's economy is crumbling and protests a starting. A relief valve is needed quick and war may be the way to do it.

Syria and the Hezbollah are facing serious covert attacks on various parts of their armies and offensive weapons. They must decide to use the, or lose them soon.

Israel has troops ready for anything right now in the north.

If this was a good day in the Middleeast by ones definition, I would hate to see a bad day.

Thread: IDF Rabbi signals Israeli Attack

Massive tweets signaling Israel to take up arms and attack.

Most likely Syria to throw Iran off balance and force a front that will drain Iran of military resources and manpower.

Once softened up enough, Israel will most likely make a direct assault on Iran.

Buckle up and stay tuned - its about to get real.

Turkey authorizes military operations in Syria

Published: 10.04.12, 14:16 / Israel News

State media says Turkey's Parliament has approved a bill authorizing the military to conduct cross-border operations in Syria after a deadly shelling from the Syrian territory killed five civilians.

The Anadolu Agency says legislators on Thursday voted in favor of the bill that gives the government authority for one year to send troops or warplanes to strike Syrian targets whenever it deems it necessary. (AP)

Still there is much talk that NATO and America will not support the use
Of NATO forces. turkey has been quite apprehensive of actually using its own forces to do much of anything besides fight Kurdish rebels. Whether Turkey does more is still something to be seen, but things still are not as hot as they could be.

Israeli border, there is much going on too, but so far nothing is being caught by the news.

Just my thoughts...

What I think is happening is the U.S. administartion sees that Iran's economy is tanking and hoping that people will see what type of person Ahmadinejad and will hopefully vote a different political personality into office. The United States does not want to go to war, but the only way to stop it is to have a regime change; one who will work with the West. With that being said, I cannot see anybody from Iran being put into office that the west could trust... just look at Egypt.

Anyway, while it's been rather quiet, we are still hearing about how terrible Ahmadinejad is and what happend in Lybia. These little stories are to keep the publics focus off of what is soon to be a rather large operation in Northern Africa. I give it about one month tops before we start seeing more stories coming from Sudan, Somalia, the Congo, and the rest of the counties in the northern part of Africa. The U.S. is already there and they are quietly building and filling up bases.

I think ahmadinejad was reelected either this or last year, but you may be right
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24875097

No there will be elections again bc dinnerjacket is stepping down next year. that is why it was his last UN visit last week. real change, forgive that aweful term, would not happen unless the mullahs are removed from power. otherwise its the same story for last almost 40 years, only with a new face.

unfortunately most outside of Asia minor don't understand this as they hear the term president and think automatically he is the guy calling the shots. he's not. if amadinnerjacket wants to eat rice pilaf foe dinner the mullahs get asked first.

I've majored in near east studies, I'm fluent in Persian and Arabic and know the cultural and historical background. not only is this a showdown of military proportions but its also an ideological showdown akin to ancient history when the Greeks were forced to deal with a growing Persian threat.

this is a continuation of an ideological east v west battle that has raged since the dawn of civilization . its gone hot at times and been dormantly cold at other times but right now its white hot and for the first time in over 1000 years the western world looks weak politically to the eastern agitators and they are smartly acting upon our weakness.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24885704

Yes, it is all on the Mullahs, but I do not think the blame is going to be put on them, especially when the economy is getting very bad. Funny how this theocracy works.. something bad happens to the country, it's the "presidents" fault.. Something good happens, it's because of the mullah. Dinnerjacket is nothing more than a scapegoat when trouble happens.

Israel could go it alone scenerio:

Just some thoughts not entirely thought out but would love some input. I'll keep it short.

1) Russia gets Georgia.

2) S Korea takes out pesky N Korea with our help. China wouldnt mind, I think. Good trade prospects. China may insist on Taiwon, though. (sticky wickit there)

3) USA in Afgh along with India keeps Paki in check. Drones are already in Paki.

4) USA in Hormuz region keeps straits open, could wipe out Iran navy if attacked, protects Saudi, and helps keep Egypt in check. Everyone would support this defensive posture.

5) USA in Med helps with Egypt and Leb.

6) Turkey vs. Syria????

Now Israel could go 1 on 1 with Iran (still a tough nut) and if Iran steps out of that direct conflict we have the right to protect. Also, anyone who would help Iran is held at bay. USA is not defending Israel, only the WORLDS oil.

I think Russia and China would go for this. It just came to me last night. I would love some feedback. You all have studied this and I'm sure you can tear many holes in it. Please do. I won't be offended.

To stay out of it all. Obahmah has never liked Euorpean nations determining the politics of the World. He blames the western forces for manipulating and taking advantage of the various peoples of the World and he still holds a grudge. That is why he wishes to disarm America fo nuclear weapons and limit our sphere of influence. He too likewise wishes to see the same from NATO.

At some point the UN or NATO would have to help out. Plenty of Europeans to take care of Hez and Hamas. This is still a very general outline and I'm sure things will happen differently. This is also a very broad conception (WW3). I just thought #6 was about to come to pass.

yes it seems its about to start but things will probably not be the way the west & israel think. as soon as syria gets invaded or a fly zone israel is looking at a lot of heat from a number of arab countries. remember the attack on lybia? yesterday i heard theres no us personal left there, they dont seem to be able to handle lybia what about the other countries?
