FYI. Check out new thread "Russia will side with Egypt".

Could see Russia weaseling in to sell them weapons, but not to get involved directly. Their involvment would spark American involvment I hope you are right. American involvement...and what that would lead to on our land...scares the crap out of me. I don't think the russians would get involved, neither China by the way. This may change in some years time. But right now I cannot see what interest they might have to do it. Unique time to solve this conflict once and for all. The topic at lunch was of course the MiddleEast. I see Russia coming into play if Syria and or Iran get a beating, but Russia has little ability to get troops to Egypt in quick fashion and so that would be moot b the time they can act.
